Re: Red Lobster Considering Bankruptcy Filing
Chili's closed both the Irvine and Aliso Viejo locations recently. Both locations were always super busy with waits on weekends. Both were featuring trial menus in which the "3 For Me" was priced at $16.99 and above. I suspect the rents swelled so they closed up shop... I think it's diffic...

Re: Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions Cutting Store Hours
The Ralphs that had extended hours (mostly around Los Angeles) never returned to those after COVID. For example, the Rock-N-Roll Ralphs was open 24-hours. But in fairness, Kroger was cutting the hours well before COVID. The Food 4 Less down the street from Disneyland went from 24-hours to closing at...

Re: Red Lobster Considering Bankruptcy Filing
Chili's and Fridays have been closing stores for years and just announced a new round of closings. Applebee's continues to close stores and seems destined to become a mostly small market operation, at best. Denny's has had several rounds of closures---I think they benefited, over time, by the decli...

Re: Red Lobster Considering Bankruptcy Filing
ClownLatch brings up some excellent points. I don’t agree chains have a natural flight — many (Denny’s,, Chili’s, Friday’s, etc.) have a managed to stay revelant even as their peers perished. And Texas Roadhouse continues to grow and thrive while Outback does the opposite… even though Texas Roadhou...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing
No additional discounts here. The Lake Forest locations were pretty much cleaned out last weekend. Foothilsl Ranch doesn’t even look like it’s going out of business. Still had most produce, all marked 50% off. That is a cursed location. Can't believe they actually bought the building. Why do you th...

Re: Red Lobster Considering Bankruptcy Filing
In fairness, Red Lobster was never that big in SoCal. I’m thinking that it could not compete with plethora of fresh seafood as well as Asian restaurants throughout the area. California Fish Grill is a better product IMO, although it’s not sit down. We sometimes go to the location in Garden Grove. It...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing
So the backrooms are STUFFED FULL in both Reno and Sparks. The stores are closing on or BY April 28 (some employees think they could be closed any second). So I asked what is happening to the stuff in the backroom. I was told they are going to pick it all up and nothing more is going to be stocked....

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing
Sparks 99 Only was told their last day will be April 28. They had previously been told June 3. There is still a LOT of product in the backroom at this store. They are not making much effort to get it out onto the sales floor. I am wondering if they will just pick it up and sell it in SoCal. It appe...
