I stopped in the day after opening. Nice store. Definitely feels better than the one on Northtowne Lane. Save Mart did respond with a mailer to nearby customers. $10 off $50 purchase, some various free items, as well as a few other coupons.

Also in Reno-Sparks you have WinCo, which does a good job of being cheap and carrying a decent product mix due to their store size. New Safeway Planned for Reno
First new Safeway in years. It will be interesting to see how this works out for them. With all of the planned growth in that area, this could be a good thing.

Costco changed from accepting only American Express to only Visa a while back. Did that really affect their business that much? From my observation, the answer is no. Why is this different? Most people carry more than one type of credit card, especially if they are using them to get the reward point...
