Re: Harris Teeter selling their dairy businesses
From the best I can tell, nobody sells "Hunter Farms" brand dairy products besides Harris Teeter. This places does make some products for other parties but you are not going to see "Hunter Farms" tea, ice cream, milk, frozen ice cream cakes, in a Safeway or any competitor. I rem...

Harris Teeter selling their dairy businesses
Harris Teeter is selling their Hunter Farms Dairy to a Mid-Atlantic cooperative. Considering that Kroger owns so many of their own dairies, why is HT selling one off?

Re: Harris Teeter/Kroger integration
...Interesting story going on down with their Chicago operations. Bob retired from Roundy's, started his own chain, and Roundy's Mariano's growth has stagnated compared to the mid-2010s..... IMO, it would have happened anyway as the novelty wore off and Roundy's went deeper and deeper in the red. T...

Re: Harris Teeter/Kroger integration
The way it was explained to me is that Kroger wasn't just buying HT's real estate, they were buying HT's processes as well. HT was consistently profitable, had high customer satisfaction, and strong brand loyalty in an industry known for razor thin margins; Kroger wanted that "secret sauce"...

Re: Harris Teeter/Kroger integration
HT has been carrying Simple Truth and Private Selection products for about 3 years now. It's only this year that I saw regular Kroger product on the shelves (bagged rice). I don't remember what was there before Simple Truth/Private Selection products entered the mix at Harris Teeter. Although I hav...

Re: Albertsons buys Kings
The majority of King's stores are too small to transition from 'upscale' to 'mainstream'. I don't think they will succeed if they are not able to distinguish themselves by having better product quality and service compared to chains with bigger stores. IIRC, Albertsons did not purchase the "mi...

Re: Best Buy Layoffs
The Best Buy near me cut their floor space in half. The strip mall walled off the half that BB gave up and started adding a new sign, but it's been half-finished since the pandemic started a year ago.storewanderer wrote: ↑February 11th, 2021, 8:58 pm Next will be they can significantly downsize their storefronts.

Re: Albertsons scales back Plated Meal Kits
https://www.grocerydive.com/news/albertsons-scales-back-plated-meal-kits/551607/ This isn't too surprising. They have few to no of these at all in my area (remote NorCal division Stores). These are simply a very slow seller in most stores. Kroger continues to "push it" up here at Smiths w...

*I've only seen one Kroger product end up at Harris Teeter thus far. HT has been carrying Simple Truth and Private Selection products for about 3 years now.
