Re: Ridiculous lawsuit

I would be interesting to see if this lawsuit would go somewhere, outside of California, if someone proved they were FORCED to use self checkout because the store had NO regular registers open. I regularly see that condition with Wal Mart, Target, CVS, and Kroger in Nevada. You have NO choice but t...

Re: 99 Cents Only

Have there been any improvements in product selection at the 99 Stores? Are there higher quality products at a higher price point? Does every item cost $1.99, $2.99, etc? What is the reason why customers should shop at these rebranded stores? It really does not sound very appealing. Has Dollar Tree...

Re: Save Mart closing pharmacy

I think the point is coming where more and more insurances will just flat out require mail order for routine medications. You can go to a physical pharmacy for immediate need/single time prescriptions but once refills start becoming involved- mail order. I don't think that will happen for a while. ...

Re: 2022: 10 Kmart, 23 Sears stores remain...

I agree, it will probably just fade away. Maybe local operators will buy the last few stores and the brand, and run them independently (I can dream....). More likely, the remaining stores will close a few at a time until the chain is gone.

Re: New Stater Bros. Riverside replacement store opening

Stater is really killing it in the inland empire. I wish they would open more stores in LA and OC. Albertsons/Vons could use some competition. These days even Ralphs isn't what it once was.

Re: Amazon Halts All New Amazon Fresh Just Walk Out Stores

This may be a hot take, but Amazon needs to give up on physical retail. They just can't do it. Every concept they have started either failed or is struggling. Whole Foods is doing okay because it was doing well when they acquired it. They should stick to what they do best: online retail and web serv...

Re: 99 Cents Only

The 99 app now has a price scanner, so you can check pricing before you buy. It’s astonishing how much merchandise is not properly marked. They have some great pricing on produce at the moment. We spent $20 (after $3 off coupon on the app) last week for a haul that would’ve cost nearly $100 at Ralp...

Re: Costco heavily pushing Executive Memberships in store?

Yup, at my store they have people who will ask you for your card before letting you into the self-checkout area. If you don't have executive, they will give you the pitch. Sometimes you have to be firm with them. "I already told you I'm not interested" works well.

Re: "Local" - where did it go?

My guess would be that due to supply chain disruptions, they may have had to occasionally get certain products from outside the region, that were normally supplied locally. Therefore, they may have removed the "local" signage in order to avoid false advertising. Keeping track of the source...
