Re: 8 Ohio CVS Stores "dangerously" understaffed
Playing devil's advocate here... Is this because they've cut the hours to zero, or is it because they aren't staffed/can't get staffed? Common denominator may be the same, but curious because if they're all running short pharmacists and technicians that is different from the company ordering staffi...

Re: WSJ: Rite Aid plans 400-500 store closures in pending bankruptcy filing
Rite Aid sold the Payless name to some independent mail order pharmacy in Oregon. It appears they have merged a couple times. https://www.linkedin.com/company/payless-drug-ltc-pharmacy So I don't think they or any buyer of stores could immediately use that name. Thrifty name is pretty connected to ...

Re: WSJ: Rite Aid plans 400-500 store closures in pending bankruptcy filing
I found these tweets from a fellow RAD colleague on the other coast(Delaware)and being a 25-year company veteran I agree with them 100% in respect the sensationalized(yes, sensationalized)media coverage of financial plight of my longtime employer: https://twitter.com/HRH_Aughenbaugh/status/17062839...

Re: WSJ: Rite Aid plans 400-500 store closures in pending bankruptcy filing
For the RAD employees who follow Retail Watchers and covered by a bargaining agreement, have your local union leaders negotiated any kind of additional severance or benefits for the many RAD employees being shown the door as their local location(s) close? If I were a bargaining unit member, I would...

Re: WSJ: Rite Aid plans 400-500 store closures in pending bankruptcy filing
Watching the RAD space very, very closely on the west coast. All indicators are that the west coast is basically "gone" - unless someone is able to purchase it. Remember when RAD try to merge with WAG? When that didn't work, the FTC still placed more roadblocks in terms of divestitures to...

Re: Fareway-Iowa
Didn't know much about this chain but had heard they ran very basic stores with low cost produce and meat. Interesting chain. Stores I went to were under 20k square feet. Basically feel like a 1950's grocery store. Small produce area as you enter, meat and dairy on the back wall; meat is full servi...

Re: CA AG looking at pharmacy aspect of Kroger Albertsons merger
The problem is that Amazon is putting mom and pop pharmacies out of business. In addition, supermarket pharmacies are also closing. This leaves little choice with regard to pharmacies. No one wants to be stuck having to drive miles just to find a pharmacy. This merger could result in many supermark...

Re: CA AG looking at pharmacy aspect of Kroger Albertsons merger
Meanwhile I read that BS CA is leaving CVS Caremark PBM and expects to save $500 million per year by going through Amazon, Mark Cuban's thing, and some other company I've never heard of before. Do those networks allow retail store fills or are they going to get all of this cost savings by pushing m...
