Re: CVS to close 900 stores
Yet another Michigan closure that went unnoticed: Warren and Venoy in Westland closed on May 3. This was yet another ex-Arbor Drugs strip mall location.

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Yet another Michigan closure: Melvindale closed earlier this year despite receiving the new logo. It was a freestanding location that kept its original pastel decor, was located in a past-its-prime inner-ring Detroit suburb, and was right across the street from a CVS, so that closure was somewhat lo...

Re: CVS to close 900 stores
Two other Michigan closures from earlier this year: a CVS in Lincoln Park (that is across the street from a Meijer, and thus may have been done in by Meijer's pharmacy) and a CVS in Wyandotte (in the downtown area there, which is already receiving two apartment-box redevelopment projects, so I would...

Re: CVS to close 900 stores
I'm going to imagine that some of the ex-Arbor strip mall locations in the Detroit area are getting the axe. I've already noticed two Detroit CVS closures within the past year, both in very rough areas (one on Dexter near Davison, and one in Highland Park).

Re: Short staffed restaurants
A major franchisee for the Downriver Detroit-area McDonald's restaurants has given out bonuses to all of its employees for a couple of months. Despite this, and the fact that I've been seeing hiring ads at their locations, the franchisee's owner has actually stated that they plan on keeping their lo...

https://www.macombdaily.com/news/st-clair-shores-ready-to-go-krogering/article_1a6dcd1e-98a2-11eb-97db-83dea72b7c64.html The current store was one of several acquired from Farmer Jack in 2007, and has received only one remodel, to the Flagship Script decor. The new store, which opens April 21, is a...

Re: Rite Aid Logo Change
The stores in Wyandotte, MI; Melvindale, MI; and Taylor, MI so far have the new sign. The Wyandotte store even kept it's awning. Yesterday I drove past the store in Riverview, MI store and noticed that the building sign on that store was removed and a nice labelscar left behind. The road sign still ...
