Re: Amazon Go
I continue to find it very ironic that a city will tell a privately owned retail business what forms of payment it must accept. However that same city is perfectly fine with a privately owned bridge (Golden Gate Bridge) that is cashless and will not accept cash payments. All this about restricting a...

Re: Pete's Fresh Markets in Chicago
I often wonder how chains like this can present such a vast variety and quantity of fresh products as the larger chains struggle to even offer significantly less fresh variety. Chicago has a lot of small operators really trying, and between the demise of Dominicks and various other closures over the...

Two more Arizona stores closing:
2740 East University, Mesa (didn't know AZ got any of these posterboard style sign lifestyle stores... wow)
750 East Guadalupe, Tempe (seemed like this store held on and did well enough for quite a while longer than one would have expected considering the location)

Re: Ahold Delhaize to roll out Nature's Promise line to all banners
What exactly are they doing with Food Lion? It is a joke in the Mid Atlantic region compared to either of the Giants (PA or MD). Higher prices, inferior stores, shorter hours, no self checkout, laughably bad bakery/deli. Also noticed Food Lion has its own private label on grocery, different point o...

Re: Amazon Go
The State of New Jersey and the city of Philadelphia have now banned cashless stores, and others may follow. And now San Francisco... https://www.foxbusiness.com/retail/san-francisco-bans-cashless-stores-amazon-go Why are cashless stores banned but cashless toll roads are okay? Oh well. Probably no...

Re: Raley's sells Aisle1
Did Raley's have a relationship with Anabi prior to the sale? Was Raley's actively marketing their stations? It is uncertain if there was a prior relationship. It is possible they were somehow involved with Anabi for fuel supply. So far Anabi has not done anything with these stores. They remain bra...

Re: Rite Aid Liquor Store
There was a regular Rite Aid across the street that looked to be about 20 years old (diamond windows, etc.).
The liquor store was clearly the former strip mall Rite Aid. You could see where the pharmacy had been. It was now a walk in beer cooler.

Re: Kroger Cosing Dearborn, MI Store... Across The Street From Another Kroger
That former Farmer Jack looks pretty good inside. Maybe before they did the major expansion/remodel on the store across the street, they weren't sure which store they wanted to invest significant money into... so they just kept both. Sort of strange. There was a situation like this with Frys in Temp...
