This article was poorly written. Mar Val is retaining the store but is changing the concept. Maybe the article was written this way on purpose to try and erase the wrath of Mar Val.

There were a few Super Kmarts there. Two (mid 90's models I presume) closed during bankruptcy but one (an early 00's model I think...) is still open but no longer as a Super Kmart after having groceries removed sometime in the past few months.

What is the share for Safeway and Fry's in Tucson now? The last numbers I have from 2006 show Fry's with 18 stores having 23.4% and Safeway with 26 stores having 22.9%.
