Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie

I know this market intimately and it is where my retail career began. I worked at just about every demographic that there was from Jewish to Hispanic and all in between. Florida's condition is due to lots of complicated transitions and profound amounts of LUCK that helped Publix be who they are tod...

Re: Boston Market

Boston Market still seems to be open in some locations.

The website seems to have been re-done.

Re: Cocos Food-Stockton, CA (and Sterling, VA?)

Stockton Store is supposedly closed now, but there are rumors they will be reopening with a different format and possibly different name.

I wonder how many other customers they were so rude to about refusing restroom use.

Re: Grocery Store Hot/Fried Food

In the case of Ralphs all that chicken frying happens right behind the deli register in plain sight. I'm sure the procedure if done correctly is fine, but what I see here is sloppy, drippy execution and I am concerned about raw meat juices splashing around in the deli meat and cheese cutting area w...

Re: Save Mart/Kingswood Sale

Another follow up article on this: https://www.fasken.com/en/knowledge/2024/09/drafting-and-diligence-matter-in-ma-lessons-from-save-mart Also the article says the "base value" of the purchase price was $245 million. I don't know what that means. Does that mean Kingswood paid $245 million...

Re: Phillips 66 to close Los Angeles Refinery

I don't see the MT thing but I see a small but noticeable number of TX licenses around Reno. Then again many days it feels like 25%+ of cars have CA plates. By the time CA does something about this residency issue there will have to be hundreds and thousands of residents taking advantage. It may end...

Re: Wal Mart Remove Self Checkouts

They are definitely neglecting the credit card readers so that people pay with cash. Yet they have only 3 cash accepting self checkout units and 4 card only (with these lousy pinpads) self checkouts. And they've got the self checkout supervisor who watches them like a hawk and will throw you out if...

Re: Grocery Store Hot/Fried Food

Having stood and watched the deli at Ralphs, both their "rotisserie" chicken and fried chicken are produced in such an unpleasant manner that I have no interest in consuming them. My local Ralphs had their "rotisserie" which is really just a glorified beer can chicken type uprig...

Re: Shari's operations

It looks like a sharis in Vancouver Wa has reopened as it is taking online orders again. Maybe to get portlanders in it and continue going to the chain.. And I can no longer access the sharis website. I don't think it ever closed but was marked as such on the OLO site. I don't think some of those O...
