I didn't even think of that...

I went to a normal Raleys today. I was sure jealous of the selection there (and it seemed like it was a pretty low volume Raleys), vs. this ONE Store.

Re: Is 2021 finally the end for Sears/Kmart?

Decided to make the trek to the nearest open Sears- in Stockton, CA. I think this is also the last Sears in Northern California? I was lucky I made it here during their daily operating hours of 11 AM to 6 PM. The store hardly had any customers mid-day. As far as employees go there was one cashier in...

Re: Whole Foods Now Accepting Amazon Returns

I don't know. In Reno/Sparks/Carson City there are 4 strategically placed Kohl's within about a 15 minute drive of just about anyone in the area. There is one Whole Foods that is a lot more than 15 minutes from many people. I think it just provides another option for returns. Amazon continues to gro...

"Decor" and fixtures are the same as the CA stores. They are better-organized. Maybe they just run better stores in Arizona than they do in California and Nevada.
How is traffic in these stores? Are they better organized due to having more labor or less traffic?

Re: Arco- Marathon?

Arco in NorCal/OR/WA no longer advertises itself as Top Tier Gas. So that is the BP-affiliated Arcos. Arco in the other territories (the Tesoro territories) is still Top Tier. I am surprised BP would drop the Top Tier affiliation. I think that was a somewhat important affiliation for Arco to have. A...

Re: Ross Store closure-Susanville, CA

Clean, well-stocked stores, racks that are not crammed with disheveled merchandise, lines that are not interminable, and a security guard at the front door who is reasonably friendly. Let's face it: you don't shop at Ross for the ambience. You shop there for the prices. Do they redecorate or anythi...

Re: Grocery Outlet

I'm on the other side of the coast so merchandising seems a bit different. In PA (the only state where they currently have locations on the east coast), milk comes from Lancaster county based Turkey Hill. I've never noticed any 'Harvest Day' items either. Selection of course changes every week but ...

Re: Raleys converting Reno Store to ONE Market Format

This store finally reopened its salad bar and hot food bar. There is a new price increase to 9.99/lb for these. .... The salad bar looks exactly like it did a year and a half ago before the COVID thing closed it. It isn't a big salad bar but it has a nice variety of ingredients and options. Not clea...

Re: Ross Store closure-Susanville, CA

It's easy to dump on Ross but it's one of the great success stories in retail. As I've said before on this forum, the higher-end stores get the headlines while stores that focus on the low end are often looked at as being rundown, unimaginative, or a dive. But places like Ross, Dollar General, Five...

Food 4 Less - Arkansas

It appears Food 4 Less in Arkansas was owned by Wal Mart for a time period in the early 90's. What happened to these stores ultimately? It looks like there were about 17 stores. https://www.oklahoman.com/article/2370849/wal-mart-buys-food-chain-in-arkansas Guessing they decided to take control of th...
