Re: Arco- Marathon?
I don't really understand why Marathon is returning Arco to other parts of the US. They have branded a few in FL too. Are they operating these as discount type stations? From what I saw in MN where they have a few also, those Arcos, did not have a particularly competitive gas price (they were just a...

Sears HQ Auctions
There are some auctions at Sears HQ in IL soon. They are doing a silent auction of the history facility. I can't find an actual auction listing for this one. I'd really like to find that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BiaqvDdQWs They are doing an online auction of the food service area. I don't s...

Re: WinCo marketing in eastern Idaho
Interesting that they aren't showing copies of the actual receipts as they did in the past. I would expect the receipts are on display on the carts they display in the store. That is how they've done it the past couple times in Reno. I think these comparisons don't mean much but I had fun taking th...

Re: Albertsons 100% self-checkout pilot program at two locations
The thing about self checkout though is that it is becoming more accepted and is already present not only at both Albertsons and Safeway, but other higher priced stores have it. I will also add that the Fred Meyer near me has gone to forced self checkout most of the time on the GM side of the store...

John Mackey to retire from Whole Foods in September
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2022/aug/11/whole-foods-ceo-john-mackey-socialists-taking-over Sounds like he is ready for a new hobby other than running a chain of stores. I am actually surprised he stayed as long as he did under Amazon. I look forward to hearing what he has to say and if he w...

Re: Cracker Barrel closes Portland Jantzen Beach location
The Hollywood location is a ghost kitchen… Not personally familiar with the Southern California locations, but using Google Maps it doesn’t appear that any of their brick and mortar CA locations are near somewhere where I’d worry about safety. The Sacramento Howe location may get some stragglers ev...

Re: Save Mart closing pharmacy
i'm wondering if at some point save mart makes the decision to sell off the remaining nevada stores to safeway. i'm surprised the keystone store has remained open for as long as they have. Now that they closed pharmacy they just seriously devalued the stores and I question who would buy them. Kroge...

Re: CVS to close 900 stores
It would be interesting if Sacramento seems any CVS closures at all.Only one local closure has occurred since they acquired Long's drugs(6045 Madison was merged with 5420 Dewey before the conversions began)and the latter had quite a few coverage holes in mature areas of town that CVS has only gotte...

Re: Albertsons announces strategic review of company
Maybe it's just me,but the ACI Atlantic seaboard operations may be lagging compared to those of ahold Delhaize, which could factor in antitrust reviews should they do merge. If they do merge, hopefully the post-merger ahold Delhaize USA headquarters would either be in Pleasanton or New England rathe...
