Re: Kroger to merge with Albertsons?

Meat isn't any good at F4L or Winco. None of these price impact formats seem to be good with it. I don't see any reason why Kroger wouldn't sell off these price impact format stores (F4L/FoodsCo) in their entirety, being the only true "division sold off" and include all of the operations ...

Re: Stater Bros. Oceanside (Vista Way) closed

Meanwhile looking at competition in Oceanside I see it is stacked just great when you pass Stater- first you have Albertsons, then what looks like a low volume Ralphs Marketplace, then Vons which just got a colorful lifestyle remodel. It will be interesting to see what ends up divested.

And another location is closing...Everett, WA: https://www.heraldnet.com/news/walmart-announces-everett-store-on-highway-99-will-close-on-april-21/ And a Brosnan Security vehicle parked out front in Google Street View. I think we can assume shrink was a problem. I didn't realize that company was na...

Re: Wendy's Adds Chicken Wraps

Carls Jr. has multiple charbroiled chicken sandwiches but in my observation sales on those has become very slow.

I think other than whole rotisserie chickens, sales of "grilled" chicken products has really slowed down for some reason. Not entirely sure why.

babs wrote: March 22nd, 2023, 2:02 pm The Walmart in Downtown Honolulu that used to be a Macy's is closing as well. I gotta think theft, high operating costs and fewer people working in the office in downtown Honolulu did it in.
Another irregular format store closing.

Probably had an odd sales mix with that location.

Re: Krispy Kreme Discontinues Grocery Store Line

These supermarket Krispy Kreme products always looked disgusting, slimy and stale appearance. Their product is only good in the plain original glazed, only if eaten red hot within a couple minutes after taken off the doughnut machine. The glaze turns to liquid and the doughnut loses most of its fla...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Apparently our shelved-off aisles could be soon be reopened in the wake of a fire marshal complaint which may or may not make any difference given the lack of a real corporate merchandising plan and the fact that the store is the only Sunrise Village merchant to retain its original facade. While the...

Re: Kroger to Open 3 Marketplace Stores in North Texas

My guess is that Kroger is simply trying to keep up with all of the new growth in North Texas. They took a pause I suppose when all of their money was going to their Occado "sheds" and now they're trying to catch up. I would suspect that the DFW area is one of their best markets. I don't ...

Re: Kroger to merge with Albertsons?

Interesting reading your observations of FoodMaxx. It seems they have a lot of regional variation, because mine are fairly well staffed, usually 2-3 lanes open (no self checkout here) and several employees on the floor. Their pricing does seem to be a bit higher than Winco, but my credit card rewar...
