No change in Bishop and Mammoth Lakes. Bishop still closes at 11 PM, and Mammoth Lakes is still open 24 hours.
Also both Ridgecrest stores are still open until 11 PM.

Re: Target Rolls 10 item "Express Self Checkout" Nationwide
Someone posted the actual policy. This policy will not fully apply to "two door" Target formats if they have self checkouts on the grocery side. So that will mean most of the (former) Target Greatland units and all of the Super Target units will not have "express self checkout" o...

Re: Stop & Shop closures
I've seen conditions like those Stop & Shops in various isolated stores of the regionals out west (Save Mart, Raleys) over the years. Usually this happens in poorly performing stores that are just too big or chains that are just having problems. Haggen had a lot of stores like this back in the 2...

Re: Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions Cutting Store Hours
I wonder if this will be a start of a trend. I can understand the issue with shrink and I wonder if it is also the fact that more cities are now implementing curfews due crime trends. It becomes a trend until your competitor decides they want $100 in extra sales for being open an extra hour then yo...

Re: Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions Cutting Store Hours
Looks like effective last Monday, most Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions will be open 6AM - 10PM. Previously, these stores were open until 11PM and some opened at 5AM. Prior to the pandemic, many were open until 12AM-2AM. It’s only been recently that some locations near Los Angeles saw their hours expanded...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
Heritage is far from large enough to do a big IPO and make a fortune on, which is one of the three ways they make money. It is too small to have billions of dollars in debt foisted upon it. It isn't a national merger candidate. I could more easily see it being sold to a more competitive operator li...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
I don't know about Haggen and Andronico's since I haven't been to them, but I can certainly speak to Kings and Balducci's. You'd have to seriously rethink how they're being run for them to stand on their own. You'd need major renovations in several stores, a total change of product mix, far superio...

Re: Target Rolls 10 item "Express Self Checkout" Nationwide
Was in Carson City Target. A manager looking woman was rudely waiving customers away from self checkouts and trying to get them to use cashiers, but she would sometimes let someone use one; but she was telling those who she allowed to use them it was card only and had a 10 item limit and if you try...

Re: Fast Food chains focusing on apps while menu prices skyrocket
That BK did not accept coupons or app offers for most of last year. it’s also developed a habit of swelling its prices then brining them back down. For example, an 8pc nugget went from $1.99 to $3.49 overnight and dropped to $2.89 after a couple weeks. I’m surprised they haven’t renovated the inter...

Re: Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions Cutting Store Hours
This is strange. NorCal Division has been expanding store hours more and more. They have stores open so late in some locations that make no sense to me. They seem to like 5 AM to 1 AM in a lot of CA locations. They have the stores in Reno/Tahoe still mostly 24 hours and in my very late night visits ...
