Re: Albertsons continues to disappear from WA
The thing we have to give Albertsons credit for is they are continuing their long-standing tradition which commenced after the ASC Merger of having multiple interior decor packages going at the same time. Well, not NorCal Safeway who only seems to know what that Florida interior is. Except in Hawaii...

Re: Smart & Final Corona Del Mar Closed
Smart & Final is geared toward small business owners. In my area, you can see First Street and Simply Value products at many food trucks, taco stands, etc. Many janitors get their supplies from there as well. I don't think they are really focused on the consumer market. Since I don't have a Cos...

Re: New Seasons Market - 2021
These studies have been done before and it is a health risk. Especially risky is plastic trays a lot of packaged foods are sold in. It's recommended that you transfer the food to a safer container for the microwave but most people use the packaging that the food came in. https://www.health.harvard....

Re: Albertsons continues to disappear from WA
Pueblo, CO Albertsons also got remodeled into that interior Renton has. Maybe they are testing what generates the best results- remodel into a generic Safeway interior/rebanner or do an Albertsons remodel and keep Albertsons banner. Funny the Albertsons banner keeps getting customized interiors like...

Re: New Seasons Market - 2021
Not really accurate on the waste issue, though it sounds logical. Small bottles are the biggest contributor to waste by the nature of its convenience (size) and use. They are also inefficiently used and discarded. By the store not selling the small bottles I don't see how it will stop those bottles...

Re: Pep Boys - out of the parts biz?
Advance, Auto Zone, O'Reilly have opened so many new stores over the years and Pep Boys has been largely stagnant as far as opening up retail stores goes. This exit from the retail parts business in certain locations has probably been a long time coming. While Pep Boys previously had large obviously...

Re: Target Closing 2 Small Stores in the San Francisco Bay Area
I haven't had the opportunity to checkout the new store on the first floor. The current two level store had a lot of wasted space with the escalator atrium, entry escalator opening, wide aisles, way oversized and poorly designed checkstand area and also carried things that made you scratch your hea...

Re: New Seasons Market - 2021
Perhaps it is a first step effort. The smaller the plastic bottle the bigger impact on the environment. I read a couple of years ago a study on this. It seems the higher the education the larger bottle of water is purchased and visa versa, the lower the education the smaller bottle of water is purc...

Re: Albertsons continues to disappear from WA
... Putting the Sav-on name on most of their stores, especially in areas that had no Sav-on stores (not for years, at least) was a Larry Johnston idea, and an expense that the stores didn't really need at the time (as signs were re-aligned, etc.). The Dallas-Fort Worth division (which included the ...

Re: Ralphs, Food 4 Less to Close 3 Los Angeles Stores over $5 per hour extra Hazard Pay
Also they had them in Mercer Island, WA and one in Portland (around Beaverton). I recall they somewhat recently (before Safeway merger) closed both of those stores. The programs were similar to Ralphs. They closed those two after the Safeway merger. The Mercer Island store had a higher end version ...
