Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing

They seem to have cut off music in the stores that close Sunday. Items are extra 70% off whatever they scan. They already scan at various discounts 10-40% off. Sad to see them go, but they were not what they once were. In SoCal I noticed a lot of maintenance issues with their stores. Leaking/missing...

JoAnn exited bankruptcy. https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/craft-retailer-joann-approved-exit-bankruptcy-slash-505-mln-debt-2024-04-25/ "Joann creditors, who agreed to cancel about half of the company's debt and take ownership of the company's post-bankruptcy equity, unanimously...

Re: Advance Auto already closing CA stores?

Their website seems to think that store is open? https://stores.advanceautoparts.com/ca/temecula/40605-winchester-rd But when I go try to do a store pick up order there, pretty much everything I tried to order is out of stock... I did eventually find an item that was in stock. They are ready to coll...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Took a quick look into the Dearborn, Michigan store this afternoon and it looked pretty well stocked from what little I saw of it, so that region is probably preforming better. Actually the stores that are well stocked are the low volume stores. The higher volume stores are the ones with the major ...

Do you think the banks are going to run out of money? They bought it. I think it would be more likely that banks run out of patience with the DOJ They can sue the DOJ, and should, for malicious prosecution and intentional interference with a court proceeding. The DOJ has already created a unreasona...

Re: Kroger will also sell Haggen banner to C&S

They are paying a flat rate per store which is insane. Do the math from first to second deal. It's $5M a store and change. C&S is stealing these stores if they get the highly profitable ones. I am sure none of the stores we are naming here are on the C&S list. They can wheel and deal with t...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: Southwest & Hawai'i Impact

I know I saw a Kroger delivery vehicle in my neighborhood in 2023, so it definitely operated. As for OKC and Florida, I can't say how long they have left, but either way, they aren't in areas where they could get brick and mortar stores. I'm not sure that's relevant, but might be. When I was in OKC...

Re: New Temecula Smart & Final

I don't think it looked like that on the screen. It was very plain looking with minimal light blue color. The receipt is slightly different too although it does sort by category and quantity. They were allowed to hand key the PLU from the book. I just thought it was bizarre that they are not using ...

Re: Aldi lists job openings at multiple warehouses and nearly 30 stores in Northern California

I need to look it up but I don't believe the Brookhurst and Edinger Albertsons is a converted Lucky, nor do I think it is all that old. I believe it is a mid 2000s opening in part of some large building that I would swear was a Kmart by appearance but I don't recall one there growing up nor the Alb...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

Also more supercenters (good number of SuperTarget and Walmart Supercenters). There are SuperTarget stores in NJ? I didn't think there were really any in the Northeast at all. They did build several 'Greatland' locations that were maybe designed to morph into the full grocery-heavy format, but I do...
