Meanwhile looking at competition in Oceanside I see it is stacked just great when you pass Stater- first you have Albertsons, then what looks like a low volume Ralphs Marketplace, then Vons which just got a colorful lifestyle remodel. It will be interesting to see what ends up divested.

Wasn't there one somewhere in SoCal that appeared be getting finished and prepared for opening recently? I wonder if it has opened?

Carls Jr. has multiple charbroiled chicken sandwiches but in my observation sales on those has become very slow.

I think other than whole rotisserie chickens, sales of "grilled" chicken products has really slowed down for some reason. Not entirely sure why.

It seems they have a lot of regional variation, because mine are fairly well staffed, usually 2-3 lanes open (no self checkout here) and several employees on the floor.
