Re: Speedway/7-Eleven integration
Went into a conversion unit branded 7-Eleven. Former Thifty that previously was branded Arco. This unit was never actually branded to Speedway but one of the locations that was basically a Speedway without the name on it. Fuel price was about .40 below surrounding stations including another older 7-...

Re: Family Dollar Distro Center Rodent Infestation- products recalled - FDA
They are closing this distribution center.
Not sure how they plan to supply the 400 stores it supplied...?
This is either a very reactionary move or the facility is so contaminated the only option is to demolish it.

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Inventory levels in SoCal are pretty bad and seeing things like pots and box fans spread all over the aisles that used to be empty. Core categories are full of out of stocks. Also cannot believe some of the locations where they've installed self checkouts which appears to be every store in the regio...

Re: PetSmart Operations
I was just in shock to see most of an entire city block in Belmont Shore, CA where six small stores were is being cleared out for a Pet Food Express. Aside from a Rite Aid this will be the largest store in this very small, beachside shopping area. I do agree the big box format is on life support bu...

Re: Sprouts Closing 2 San Francisco Bay Area Stores
Sprouts is a lousy place to shop. Their prices are way too high for the low quality fresh goods they offer. I have come to really dislike Sprouts. As in I think it is one of the worst stores around at the present time with how it is being merchandised and priced. My guess is these bay area Sprouts b...

Re: Albertsons Carson Closing
Pharmacy closed April 28. All items in store are 25% off. Signs say 10 to 90% off but nothing was either percentage and I did look for greeting cards which I suspect were 90% off. There is no more bakery, produce, fluid dairy, or meat. Center store has a few aisles of very random items left. Most of...

Re: Whole Foods- No Checkstands
How long after shopping did it take to receive a receipt?
Was there any way to know your total upon exit?

Re: Albertsons Carson Closing
Interesting. I think this store had self checkouts installed in the past six months or so... just like the Long Beach Pavilions...
We will see which hispanic chain this store becomes. I think this store had pretty good traffic but maybe the numbers didn't work.

Re: Nordstrom: dying too?
On another thread someone mentioned that they felt a Nordstrom may be thriving and helping a busy shopping center where Macy's had left. I checked that store out and another nearby because I needed a dress shirt for an upcoming wedding I have to attend. All I can say is that now I get the same seri...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Sure seems like Bartell shouldn't have sold to Rite Aid. I wonder if they had some kind of hidden problem Rite Aid is on the hook for now that is part of this seemingly urgent cash crisis? Bartell did not sell for as high of a price as I felt it should be worth. I really expected a bidding war for ...
