Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: California Impact

They're too close together though. I never realized how close. They're direct true overlaps and can't both be kept. Something odd about the Midway remodel like I said, maybe serious roof issue or something where they had to repair damage and that justified the "remodel" and "grand re...

Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California

Never seen this interior before but see a lot of elements of the Florida decor mixed into it notably the font of some of the secondary signage. I'd eliminate the heavy emphasis on the word "neighbor" (reminds me too much of Fresh & Easy or Ikea or something foreign) and other than that...

Re: Guam Donki now open

Yes, same group. I expect someone else will get the Kmart location and Target seems like a logical choice. Wal Mart is probably a better fit but they must not know how to handle Guam logistics. Also I think the building would need to be demolished for them, but Target has demonstrated an ability to ...

Re: Target Paid Membership Program?

Every plant I have ever bought at HD was diseased. I had to return every single one. Every time I want to give them a chance again the same thing happens. :x :x :x :x :x Makes perfect sense. Stressed plants are like stressed people, they are more subject to diseases. Home Depot's nursery program ha...

Re: Jack in the Box & Del Taco moving to 100% kiosks

Proving my point. If the restaurants were busy the homeless wouldn't loiter there. I do not see homeless trying to get into packed In-N-Out dining rooms even in bad areas. Heck in Oakland they closed because of crime and problems outside, but no word of homeless and problems inside and they were bu...

Re: Ace Hardware?

I’d be curious to compare prices between Big R and CAL Ranch, since they’re part of the same buying group (MidStates Distributing). I'm curious too. That Coastal thing was one of the highest priced stores I've ever seen in this segment so if they are using their approach at CAL Ranch now... it won'...

Re: Jack in the Box & Del Taco moving to 100% kiosks

Jack in the Box was running 2 promotions this weekend: Free "Loaded" Breakfast Burrito with $5 purchase ($6.59 value) Free "Loaded" Tiny Tacos with $5 purchase ($5 value) I tried both of these items. The "loaded" burrito was of the "meat" variety but the egg w...

Re: CA Senate Bill 478- "Junk fees" bill

Previously the credit card networks prohibited surcharges and minimum purchase amounts. Credit card fees became legal due to the Durbin legislation. This politician also fought some years ago to get it so merchants could have a "minimum charge amount" if $10. Durbin is a Democrat politici...
