Re: Macy’s 2020

This is a listing of the designated "neighborhood stores" now. These are supposedly lower volume operations getting staffing and product cuts. Interesting the "southwest" region has SoCal and then has FL. And "northwest" has WA and has IL. Why have regions at all? https://www.thelayoff.com/t/13uNHK...

Re: Five Guys

Five guys is always compared to In-N-Out, and while I admit I do like the choices on occasion and the fries at Five Guys better, I can buy In-N-Out for two for the price of one combo at Five Guys. I also like Habit and their prices are much better, usually 2 combos in the 16-20 range depending on th...

Re: New warehouse format from 99 Ranch Market

I was noticing on the street view this was originally called 168 Market with Cravings food. Does 99 own 168 as well? There is a big 168 in a former Vons in Alhambra thats been there for years now.

Re: Albertsons/Safeway 2018: Openings and Closings

Nice looking former Smiths that looks extremely spacious inside. It was roughly 25 years ago that Smiths made their ill-fated re-entry into Southern California and I would imagine this store is coming off lease. Those stores were way to big and I'm surprised they didn't downsize it when they did wh...

Re: Albertsons/Safeway 2018: Openings and Closings

Vons is closing their La Habra store on Imperial Hwy. Saw this at the Whittwood store, as they had a sign that the prescriptions were transferred to that store. Store closes 10-12.

Re: Burlington Store Downsizes

The store that just recently opened near me is about 35,000 sq ft. Not too big considering a lot of other stores are in 70-140k stores in this area.

Re: Checkstands

My local Albertsons removed the self checkouts for 2 - 15 items or less lines. Then there are 5 registers only. Usually 2-3 of the regular registers are open and one of the 15 items lines.

Albertsons/Rite Aid Merger is off: What's next

I would have loved this to have gone through. They could have combined my Vons and the Rite Aid next door to make a larger store.
