Re: Ralphs San Juan Capistrano Closing. Target to Replace.

Did they put in a drop ceiling? No, they stayed very true to the original Marina-style motif: https://www.google.com/maps/uv?hl=en&pb=!1s0x80d95480d081ecc5%3A0xdc4a4e00d86d341d!2m22!2m2!1i80!2i80!3m1!2i20!16m16!1b1!2m2!1m1!1e1!2m2!1m1!1e3!2m2!1m1!1e5!2m2!1m1!1e4!2m2!1m1!1e6!3m1!7e115!4s%2Fmaps%2Fpl...

Re: Southern California Grocery Workers Vote to Strike

The old employees are still around, but not very many, working the 7-3 shifts and just waiting for retirement. Many can retire in their 50's if they started in their early 20's or teens and they do. Employees hired before the strike vested at 10 years of service. So, once you were vested you could ...

Re: Southern California Grocery Workers Vote to Strike

There was never a chance of a strike. Albertsons never even accepted applications for temporary workers. They were going to call the strike on Ralphs. Albertson's would have had to have locked their workers out. Albertson's wasn't hiring temporary worker's in 2003, either, and wasn't prepared for t...

Re: Southern California Grocery Workers Vote to Strike

A couple of days ago it looked like the Union was ready to go on strike against Ralphs but at 6:00 yesterday morning after an all night bargaining session an agreement was reached and the members started voting on it today. https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2019-09-09/strike-likely-stopped-gr...

Re: Kroger to outsource Drug Dept. to Walgreens in Knoxville, KY Market

Maybe the confusion was because their strategic partnership was started last year in Kentucky and then Knoxville, TN was added to it recently.

Re: Kroger to outsource Drug Dept. to Walgreens in Knoxville, TN Market

Kroger has a lot to offer to Walgreens through an expanded food mix and the pick-up service. There is also a benefit to Kroger because this increases their volume of food and online ordering pick-ups to additional sites. This further benefits Walgreens because they were at a cost disadvantage on fo...

Re: Kroger to outsource Drug Dept. to Walgreens in Knoxville, TN Market

This is part of a bigger partnership between the two companies. "Today, Kroger (KR) and Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) announced the expansion of their strategic partnership. As per the announcement, Kroger would roll out Kroger Express stores within 35 additional Walgreens locations in Knoxville, T...
