Re: 7-Eleven buying large chunk of Sunoco

This purchase allows 7-11 to take in the remaining part of Stripes/Laredo Taco that they do not already own, per multiple sites.

Re: CVS Closing Dozens of Pharmacies Inside Target

CVS saw that running a pharmacy without a front end was subject to losses. We all saw this coming for some time. I disagree with that sentiment for two reasons: Pharmacies in CVS and Walgreens are the profit centers of their main stores - why do you think front store pricing there is so high? To ma...

Re: JCPenney Portrait Studio

JCPenney is trying to drum up business by offer free headshots. I can't believe the portrait studios are still open. Do they even do any business these days? Are there still portrait studios run by other companies anywhere else? Didn't Sears have these at one time? https://chainstoreage.com/jcpenne...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact

They are not talking about anything other than the FTC extending the deadline beyond January 17. This is complete silliness. The FTC and multiple states are going to sue to block it. Yet the FTC has indeed allowed a lot of other silliness over the last two decades that has not been allowed before. ...

Sears Mexico is a separate company not connected to the US company. They do far better than our dozen do. It's kind of like Kmart Australia.

Re: Home Depot Free Toy Truck: Kids Workshop

Apparently every first Saturday of the month is a free kids workshop where your kid can build something for free. This Saturday is a free Home Depot Delivery truck. I kind of wish that they would let adults make one too. https://www.homedepot.com/c/kids?irgwc=1&cm_mmc=afl-ir-10451-483420-&c...

Re: Sears & Kmart 2024: Will someone please put them out of their misery?

Based on data available as of 1 January 2024, here's where we stand: Kmart - 6 total : 2 stores in the 50 States, 1 in Guam, and 3 in the USVI. • Miami, FL (banished to its former Garden Center) • Bridgehampton, NY • Tamuning, GU • St. Croix, VI • St. Thomas (Tutu Park Mall), VI • St. Thomas (Lockh...

Re: Gas Station Restaurants and Food

Where I live in South Louisiana, Gas Station food is considered a delicacy; some are better than the average restaurant. Most convenience stores worth their salt have a deli somewhere that serves hot food of all kinds, ranging from chicken strips, corn dogs, meat pies and other small fried items, to...

Re: Hobby Lobby Shrinking?

There is a massive Hobby Lobby store in Baton Rouge on College Drive that was a former Kmart. Kmart, when open, took the entire building, including the Kmart Foods that had long since closed. Office Max opened in a 15,000 sq. ft. area (which is now Dollar Tree), but HL has the rest - over 100,000 sq...
