Are they re-branding them 'Remke Markets', or 'Remke Biggs'?
The store I've been to in Florence, KY is actually branded 'Remke Biggs'. They changed the exterior signage to have both logos, and the "Thank you for shopping..." banner inside the store.

Re: JCPenney to Close Stores
The Des Moines store is the location at Southridge Mall, a dying mall on the city's southeast side. I'm surprised they stayed there as long as they did, although that store isn't that old...they moved the downtown location there 10-15 years ago. This will leave one mainline store in the Des Moines m...

Re: Shopko's future
They opened a brand new ground-up store in Council Bluffs, IA last year. I believe it was their first new build in several years. They have been remodeling existing stores into their new look/logo. They also recently re-branded a Pamida store as a smaller (than a ShopKo) format "ShopKo Hometown...

Re: San Jose Bans Plastic Bags
I actually use the plastic grocery bags as garbage liners for everything but the litter box. One of our local chains has a recycle collector specifically for plastic bags that customers can drop off. Aldi wouldn't be the first I've seen charge for bags, and some grocers used to offer five cent credi...

Re: Round Table Pizza
Round Table's last two Utah locations...both in the Salt Lake City area...closed years ago. Maybe ten years ago now. Unless their website hasn't been updated, they still list four Las Vegas area locations. I ate at one last March. It was being poorly run by kids, and a four-topping pizza and a drink...

Re: Sears logo change?
Well, looks like it IS the new Sears logo.
It's now the main logo on the front page.

Re: Portland/Burlingame Fred Meyer
Burlingame, Fred Meyer's oldest existing property (opening in 1950), was indeed scheduled for demolition and rebuilding. Stories were out about it a couple of years ago. Haven't seen anything about it since. The plan was to construct a new store nearly double the size with parking underneath. If mem...

Re: Little Caesars comeback
They had completely disappeared from whole markets, including mine, about ten years ago. It's hard to put a target on why, because they chain is privately held, and they don't talk much. A few years ago, a new store appeared on the east side of my town. Now we have multiple locations around town. I ...

7-Eleven in talks to buy Casey's General Stores
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5glm0ZG93k46hRTrI4Uf9CYaxeAxwD9I4N66G0 This is a move to thwart a hostile takeover by Couche-Tard (owners of the Circle K brand). For either company, it would be a good fill-in move territory-wise. I have to wonder how much of Casey's business model ...

Re: Sears logo change?
Notice that they use the same logo on the bottom of the website to link to sears.com.
Hmm.
Far be it from Sears to be stationary with their logos. Check out the "Sears Holdings" 'blast from the past' logo at http://www.searsmedia.com.
