Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Or, in NY the no instance since the prescriptions are done electronically :) Most doctors are sending everything electronically, but apparently paper is still a thing. That's why I said in NY, since they made it required to have them done electronically from all doctors. Likely since it is easier t...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
There's probably no business more interested in maintaining artificially high prices than the drug business. They're sometimes selling two cents worth of raw materials for tens of thousands of dollars. They have a vested interest in maintaining these insanely high prices. Everything in a drugstore ...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
I highly doubt they have any control over this. There are many major vendors who will not do any business with companies in receivership, even if offered cash up front. This is all a recent development out of 2020. Most retailers started playing games with their vendors under the threat of the pand...

Re: Official: Red Lobster files Chapter 11
For a publicly traded restaurant chain, Darden has done very well. Darden has handled its acquisitions well (that includes divesting Red Lobster). Many/all "chain" "fine dining" places are overpriced for what they are. Darden is a strong operator who is getting good financial re...

Re: Target Lowers Prices on 5,000 Items for the Summer
The bigger problem I see is if you keep throwing $10 off $50, $5 off $25, $5 off $30, $5 off $15, grocery, offers, this makes me think your prices must be high and that is why you are doing this every week... that isn't exactly accurate but their pricing isn't great. Better than Safeway of course, ...

Re: Official: Red Lobster files Chapter 11
When I was at KFC in the late 80s the lifespan of a KFC box was 30 years...I don't think they have done anything that would cause a step-change in that life since; the reasoning was that the technology and decor/setup/offering changes the older buildings become obsolete. You can see that as they ha...

Re: Mcdonald's Free Nuggets & No Refills
The 3.29 asking price for 6 pieces is too much. I can still go to Wendys and get a 4 for 4 meal that has 4 nuggets in it plus fry/drink/jr cheeseburger. Which is more or less what McDonald's just announced but at $5 (though at least here in this part of NY, they have been doing that for some time n...

Re: Expensive Restaurants Taking Over Abandoned Department Stores
Not exactly the same, though on the same thought - we have one (called the Scarlet Knife) outside of Albany, NY, that is in a portion of a former Kmart store.

Re: Kohl's To Open In-Store Babies R Us Shops
Store presentation and operations seem to be drastically improved. I do not see any two entrance stores reduced to one door anymore. Registers are open and staffed. Although I don't have that they stripped down the wall racking I understand why they did it, and at least now there are finally some w...
