Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

All of the Wild Harvest Food is now 75% off. According to signs this sale started 7/24. Quite a bit of short date on the Wild Harvest food items I am noticing. I guess it didn't work out too well. It didn't seem like there was much promotion on the line in the past year. I am surprised Supervalu/UN...

Re: McDonald's Brings Back Bagel Sandwiches

McDonald's brings back breakfast bagel sandwiches in some states such as Ohio for a limitedtime. The breakfast bagel sandwiches come in steak, egg, & cheese, bacon, egg, & cheese, or sausage, egg, & cheese, or egg & cheese. Do people like bagels more than muffins? This test might ju...

Re: Gas Price-Zone Price

Just saw one place here in NY with $3.99 today - there had been talk of several stations with below $4 in one specific town about 2 weeks back, but this is the first I actually saw such a price (and in a totally different town/county).

Re: Terrible Experience With Vons

Would depend on how those deals are advertised - if says must buy x quantity, then if you don't get that many you shouldn't expect that sale price. Some stores advertise things at prices like that (say 3 for $5) but really just charge each one for $1.66 (or $1.67), so with that you'd get it no matt...

Re: Terrible Experience With Vons

I think you have hit on an issue in general with these grocery chains and their complicated promotions. This does not work for online orders. "Buy 5" sales do not work if they pull the promotion out from under you when THEY fail to fulfill the "Buy 5" required quantity. Californ...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

My point was that it wasn't JUST Rite Aid doing this (maybe in that particular area, but not overall as the examples I pointed out are with WALGREENS stores). They also never did that in the past (at least in the stores they had, nor did those stores do it when they were Rite Aid before Walgreens b...

Re: Aldi Temporary Closures and Burglaries

Saranac Lake is an odd one. Someone must have vacationed up there and noticed all the tiny Grand Unions and figured the Aldi model could work in the Adirondacks because that area that has a winter as well as summer season. I'll bet that the problem is that most businesses around there are locally o...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Not sure it really has anything to do with this brand, as we have the same here in some Walgreens (the weekday only pharmacy), just a shortage of help overall no matter what store. It absolutely has something to do with this brand. This is a situation where Rite Aid has a store here and there (for ...

Re: Panera Bread Sacramento Country Club closed

Bread as a side item makes a lot more sense with the "pick two" deal when you get soup. I actually like the baguette option reasonably well, but don't go there too often. With soup it makes perfect sense. Past couple times the baguette was not very fresh and seemed rather rubbery. They ju...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Many of the employees in the pharmacy probably realize that the company may not be around much longer. If their store might close, many of them have decided to find jobs elsewhere. This is causing an even bigger staffing shortage. I am sure many of the pharmacists have already quit for jobs at othe...
