Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics

Pharmacies can be very profitable, but it requires pharmacies to say "no." If insurances don't cover a certain medication, you have say make a tough decision. Why order a medication and give it away at a loss? CVS and Walgreens will do this. Sorry, we don't have Ozempic in stock. Of course...

Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics

Walgreens realized that those clinics were losing money and shut them down. Originally Walgreens thought that doctor's offices like those would bring in tons of prescriptions to Walgreens. That is not the case as many customers hate Walgreens. Walgreens is so understaffed that it is difficult to eve...

Re: Walmart introduces new private label brand

Walmart most likely wants to get rid of the Sam's Choice brand so that Sam's Club can be split off from Walmart. Sam's Club can be sold off and anything with the Sam's name will be eliminated from Walmart. The higher priced premium brand does seem to be a brand that Walmart believes will be bought b...

Re: Store Evacuations

I have been in Walmart stores where the fire alarms were being tested. It went on for several minutes. Not many customers even noticed. They kept shopping. The stores then announced they were testing alarms. If it were a real emergency people would ignore fire alarms unless they see actual flames. I...

Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics

Amazon bought an entire chain of doctor's offices called One Medical. Wall Street wanted Walmart to copy Amazon since Amazon seems to be all into the idea of opening doctor's offices. Amazon is losing money on those clinics and is too afraid to admit it. The company is still pushing the subscription...

Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics

My local San Francisco Bay Area Walmart changed their mind on closing self checkout. Lines were too long with no self checkout. Now self checkout is back open, but with a cashier at each self checkout ringing up your merchandise for you and apparently no limit on the number of items. Price scanners ...

Re: Walmart to close Health Care Clinics

Walgreens and CVS closed down many of their clinics first. The reason is awful reimbursement rates from low income health plans such as Medicaid and Medi-Cal. An eye doctor normally charges $175 for a exam. Medi-Cal pays $40. This patient uses up an hour and a half of time in the office with paperwo...

Re: Store Evacuations

Costco definitely should have some kind of PA system added. There was a toxic cloud moving through the store.

I was also watching video of a Costco being evacuated due to a firestorm approaching outside. If there is no PA system someone will miss the warnings to evacuate.
