The former Texaco across the street is also an Extra Mile now, but with the better looking old logo. The former Texaco is now Chevron and has cheaper gas since they have a cash discount...

They are trying to match price cuts by Walmart or Target.

Those must be really big 99 Cent Only stores. My local Burlington stores are huge. One has 2 stories. Is Burlington thinking about opening smaller stores these days?

Dollar Tree opened up inside an abandoned Walgreens in Dublin, California not too long ago. The store still looks like a Walgreens. The very name is false advertising these days. Almost everything is over 99 cents.

Dollar Tree will have to replace those signs with new The 99 Store signs. Eventually they will all convert to Dollar Tree except for the token few stores to keep the trademark alive.

Would a 99 Cent Only Stores run by Dollar Tree be an improvement?

Not all bookstores are closing down. There are still some surviving in the middle of downtown Los Angeles. This one is in a very interesting looking building.
