Re: Vons store numbers

Hey steps and kikla......... I have a question about the Pavilions in West Hollywood. Have you both seen the most recent remodel? And have you both visited since COVID-19? I have some observations and wanted to compare to your perspectives. I haven't been to WeHo Pavilions in several months. The la...

7-Eleven wins bid to acquire Speedway

Here in SoCal, in the last 1-2 years I've seen 5 new 7-11's open with Sinclair gas stations. Sinclair is a brand I'm not familiar with but the gas is MUCH cheaper than anything near by, sometimes by .40 or more. I've generally noticed the 7-11 here are close by each other (a mile or so apart) but al...

Re: Vons store numbers

I'm a bit confused how store numbers go with VONS. I've seen store numbers in the 1000's, 2000's and 3000's. What do these store numbers mean? I've assumed stored numbers in the 2200 and up are/were Pavilions stores. 1000's are original VONS stores? 2100-2300's are VONS stores built by Safeway? 300...

Re: Ascena Retail Group preparing Chapter 11 filing

One other thing that hasn't helped: My sister has ordered clothing online from Catherine's and Lane Bryant during the shutdowns, and went on and on about how long it took for the orders to arrive and how little communication they provided, one order took over a month to arrive. She had also ordered...

Re: Microsoft to close retail stores

These stores would have never worked in the long run. Windows and iOS users are on completely on opposite sides of the tech spectrum. iOS users want style, ease of use and performance. Apple designs their hardware to specifically run iOS software which means little to no issues. Windows on the other...

Re: Stores & Riots

I feel a lot of looters are taking advantage of the situation regarding the REAL reason for the protests. Majority of looters don't care of the reason, it's just an opportunity to act a fool and get free merchandise. Add that to being basically "locked down" inside for 3 months only makes matters wo...

Re: Downtown Santa Monica Vons Property Owner Plans to Demolish

The issue with these stores in the "better areas" is they do not have roll down metal gates or anything to protect them. They have a false sense of security since they are located in these areas. I think going forward we will see a lot of these stores install gates if they choose to stay in those ar...

Re: Coronavirus Fears and Empty Supermarkets

I haven't been in a Ralph's in over a month now. Last time I went in March on a wednesday, they were fully stocked except for paper products and cleaning supplies. My recent trips have been to Aldi where they are probably the best stores Ive been to during this time. They usually have everything, ev...

Re: Coronavirus Fears and Empty Supermarkets

I went to the VONS in Torrance last weekend (the former Pavilions Place) and they had the tape to mark everyone at 6ft away out side and at the registers. There was an employee at the door letting X number of people in as others exited at the other door. The mood was quite somber in the store and ve...
