Re: 300 Petco Stores To Open in Rural Lowe's Stores

I really prefer Petco over PetSmart. PetSmart to me is way overpriced and employees don't seem to be that knowledgeable about products. Petco stores seem to be well staffed and have a nice variety of product.

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

I didn't realize they closed the DTLA location till I passed by it yesterday. That was probably one of their oldest locations going back to the Thrifty days. It's a great location but It was probably a closed because of high theft. The Walgreens across the street has had big problems with theft when...

Re: Walmart observations

Most of the stores in CA don't care about the bag fee if you use self checkout. I always choose 0 and never had an issue.

Re: Carlsbad Gateway S&F to be Replaced with 5 Story Apartment Complex

There is a Nob Hill in Santa Clara in one of these mixed use developments. That is a really dead store. It has some surface level parking even. Also I think the Safeway that closed in downtown San Jose was part of one of these mixed use developments and had garage parking. Ask people who live nearb...

Re: Walgreens Closures Continue in San Francisco

Somewhat related to this, but recently in opposition to Walgreens discontinuing abortion products across several states, governor Gavin Newsom has announced his government will cease doing business with the company in the state of California. What does this mean exactly for Walgreens - will all loc...

Re: Pavilions Long Beach converting to Vons

I've been to this store many times and it never felt like a Pavilions. There is nothing "Pavilions" about it besides the name. Deli and Bakery carry the standard Albertsons/Vons items, they do have expanded skus for things like steak sauces and olives but nothing really that makes it a Pav...

Re: Pavilions Long Beach converting to Vons

First off, with the long-ago closure of the first store in Garden Grove this has stood as the oldest Pavilions in the chain until now. Long Beach was the 2nd Pavilions location to open. I believe the site is a former Zody's. So it is the longest running Pavilions in the chain. Westminster was the 2...

Re: Macy’s 2020

Earlier this week, Macy's announced four additional store closures. I'm honestly surprised that there aren't more, as they still have quite a bit of low-hanging fruit. - Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, 4005 Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles, CA (mall is under active redevelopment) - Foothills Mall, 215 E Fo...

Re: Raising Canes and Pricing

I actually got Cane's tonight for dinner. When they first opened locations here, they were jam packed. They are still extremely busy but they have fixed their efficiency issue with multiple employees taking orders out side. They even have an employee at the drive thru window outside going down the l...

Re: Vons Westminster, CA 16450 Beach Blvd

Don't know how anyone can trust buying food at these stores. 🤷‍♂️ In the last month I have been in Northgate Gonzalez, H-Mart, and Vallarta stores that were cleaner and better operated than any of the Albertsons, Ralphs or Vons stores I visited in the same timeframe. Things are changing. I haven't ...
