Shake Shack testing a new "sustainable" frying oil
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/18/shake-shack-is-switching-up-its-fan-favorite-french-fry-recipe.html Shake Shack is testing out a new frying oil in two New York restaurants derived from sugar cane, which is reportedly more sustainable and healthier compared to the soybean oil they typically use. Thei...

Re: Wendy's New Frosty Flavor
About the only mint flavored item from a fast food place that I've liked is the chocolate chip mint shakes from Cook Out, which tastes pretty close to the mint chocolate chip ice cream you get out of a carton with the same really thin chip pieces.

Re: Forum bugs thread
Another quick one: On the main page for some forums (but not all) the search box is a weird size. This seems to be correct on the homepage, probably just a quick CSS tweak.
Example: Size is incorrect on the restaurants forum, correct on Shopping Centers.

Forum bugs thread
With the new forum theme that has recently been introduced there are a couple of bugs I've found, so I thought it might be useful to start a thread that can be used to report these. No pressure to fix them right away (whenever convenient) but software QA is my day job, and it might be useful to have...

Re: Dollar Tree, etc.
92 stores failing the inspection out of 147 tested makes it hard to argue that it's some sort of procedural error at the store level. Then again, given the dysfunctional state of store operations at the average Dollar General, you never know. Not that you'd really want to be using that type of argum...

Re: Playlists in fast food chains
I heard a rather odd one today in a Wendy's in Charlotte. The restaurant had some generic soft rock playlist playing on the speakers in the restaurant, but every so often it was being interrupted by announcements for a CVS pharmacy. My guess is that either the person who set up the Muzak system just...

Re: Round1 Bowling and Amusements Taking Over Nordstrom in San Francisco
Installing bowling alleys (especially in an existing building that hasn't been designed specifically for the purpose) is a very involved and a very expensive process, not the type of thing a "Spirit Halloween" type place could do. There's a very specific set of technical requirements for i...

Re: Mcdonald's Testing Grand McChicken for $4.69
The regular McChicken is $1.99 here, so I'm guessing the Grand McChicken would come out to around $3.29 here. From a business perspective I just don't think this makes sense though. unless they plan to eliminate the regular McChicken from the menu entirely all they'd be doing is taking the people wh...
