Re: Kroger to merge with Albertsons?

Not sure why Florida, would be represented here in this lawsuit as Albertsons is totally gone from that state. Plus Kroger only has one Harris Teeter and delivery through Ocado in Florida!

Re: Pepsi replaces Sierra Mist with Starry

Remember, Pepsi had tried to buy 7-Up, It was prevented from doing so by the FTC. So in 1986, the international operations of 7-Up were acquired by Pepsi but the US operations were not! Ever since, Pepsi has tried to market a lemon-lime drink to compete with 7-Up US. Since that time, even the logos ...

Re: 2023 - Roth's Fresh Markets trying TV ads

Roth's must think they will get divested stores out of Safeway/Kroger. This will be a bigger bomb than Haggen was. Roth's has lower quality products than Haggen at similarly high prices (maybe even higher now). Using Supervalu/UNFI as supplier. Same old story. There is zero synergy between Roth's C...

Re: Are "we" too hard on QFC?

I agree that Westwood Village would had been in the “better than average” category. I do think that the “fresh and local” decor doesn’t help it look upscale! I don’t know what the decor is called for the Renton Highlands QFC, but that feels more upscale. I Westwood does ok as they converted the gene...

Re: Future of Yard Birds in Chehalis, WA

When I posted earlier about this, I must have accidentally not posted my response. I believe that Fred Meyer may had left Yard Birds or was forced out when Pay ‘n Save Corporation took ownership as they were major competitors!

Re: Future of Yard Birds in Chehalis, WA

I still think Fred Meyer should have a full line store in that city. I suspect Yard Birds may be what kept them away back in the 80's when they were expanding rapidly. I guess now they'll get the Safeway, but, that is no Fred Meyer and never will be. Safeway is already in Centralia and Chehalis. Th...

Re: Acquisition and Integration of Haggen into Albertsons

I notice Haggen's weekly ad still looks- exactly the same as their weekly ad looked when they had the CA Stores. Pretty funny. It certainly made me long for the days of their (still beloved to me) scratch bakery and lovely produce. It does seem under Albertsons - Seattle they gave up Double R beef ...

Re: Acquisition and Integration of Haggen into Albertsons

Looks like 4 years after the last post in this thread, Haggen is getting fully integrated into the Albertsons/Safeway “for U” universe. I had known for awhile that the Haggen locality card could be used at Safeway for discounts and to earn fuel rewards. In fact I had my Haggen card linked to my Safe...
