QuikTrip heading for Denver

Re: Costco beat expectations (their 2nd Quarter / March 2019 report)

So when do they start accepting all credit cards? And put in self-scan checkouts? Hell is the equivalent of standing in the checkout lines at Costco on a Saturday.

Re: 7-Eleven to buy Stripes

Apparently 7-11 is losing its largest franchiser

This means 7-11 will disappear in NM and W Texas. I wonder if Circle K and Burger King (BK)will have problems with the DK name?

Re: LATimes.com ranks french fries

Apparently someone at INO doesn’t know that you have to rinse the starch off of the fresh cut fries to make them fry correctly

Re: Macy's announces new round of closings

It looks like Macy’s wants to get out of the small towns, which could be an opportunity for Dillard’s, whose small town stores are its cash cow.

Those BBQ chickens, and the rotisseries on rollers have been around since the 60s at least.

Re: Kroger May Sell Off Its Convenience Store Chains, Including Kwik Shop, Tom Thumb, Turkey Hill

I suspect EG will put all of these stores under one banner (they acquired the Minit Mart operation from TA) . Could EG buy the AM-PM brand from BP? Marathon/Speedway has bought the ARCO assets and wants to expand its own brands instead of licensing the West Coast only banner, and BP isn’t interested...

Re: New Safeway in Queen Creek, AZ

BTW, Safeway and Albertsons are running one combined ad insert in the Wed paper in Phoenix (and probably Tucson)...the same pricing for both chains, except club card is needed at Safeway. It is probably the indication that the Albertsons brand is going away in AZ.

Re: Integration of Albertsons and Safeway

I saw the first Albertsons/Safeway combo ad in the Phoenix newspaper today-Safeway shoppers requiring the card to get the same price as Albertsons shoppers. does this signal the start of the combination of the 2 chains in Arizona?
