BP now owns Midwest c-store chain Thorntons. Unlike the other big oil companies, BP seems to want to expand in the company-owned c-store market (as does Shell). And they are trying to upscale AM-PM. There isn't any foreign company big enough to buy Albertsons. Too much been here done that for Tesco. Loblaws and Empire are too busy in Canada.

BP is beginning to open AmPm stores on the East Coast-the first store is in Brooklyn. At the same time a number of ARCO sites in Phoenix are dropping the AmPm brand-going to the generic “Food Mart” signage. It makes you wonder if Marathon may drop the AmPm license in SoCal and Arizona.

Overseas Church’s is called Texas Fried Chicken (because “Church” has a questionable connotation in Asia) They do offer jalapeños, which is a Texas thing.
