Re: Extra Mile Remodeling

Meanwhile, am-pm seems to be fading away in Arizona, most ARCO retailers here have gone to the generic “Food Mart” signage. I don’t know what is going on in SoCal with the am-pm operation. I suspect Marathon is tired of paying BP for licensing am-pm.

Re: Phillips 66 (76/Conoco) to acquire Marathon (Arco/Tesoro/USA/Thrifty)

ExxonMobil has several products-for industry-called Gargoyle and Humble. And they sell Enco Diesel Fuel in several areas.

Re: Phillips 66 (76/Conoco) to acquire Marathon (Arco/Tesoro/USA/Thrifty)

Philips 66 (the gas station business) is totally separated from Conoco Phillips
The same with Marathon Petroleum (the gas stations) based in Ohio and separate Marathon Oil based in Texas. This is a merger of crude oil producers, not refineries.

Re: Downtown Scottsdale Fry's to become a Whole Foods

A number of Fry’s sites were originally Smith’s- especially in smaller towns like Flagstaff and Cottonwood. Converted over at the time of the Kroger-Fred Meyer merger.
And Bashas’ cash cows have always been Food City, AJ’s Fine Foods and the rural stores like the Dine’ Markets.

Maybe they can reduce the size of the gift department. And they have done pretty well in the past without California.
They also have ownership problems with some hedge fund clown.

Sounds like they sell the same crap as Five Below or the Dollar stores…only in an Asian style.
