Re: Mattress Firm Files For Bankruptcy

I just realized there are two Mattress Firm locations here. The first one is at an outparcel of The Crossings, between a Starbucks and Panera Bread. That location was built about 2007-08. The other, that I thought was Mattress Giant is actually a Mattress Firm Clearance. It is in a former Blockbuste...

Re: Publix adding liquor store next to existing store

That makes sense. B of A also closed their large downtown two story location with separate drive thru teller during the recession. They also are not as convenient as other banks as far as hours and services.

Re: Publix buys Florida Safeway supermarkets

I saw pictures of these stores Grand Opening on some websites. It seems Publix did something a little unusual here, and did not change the interior much at all. They only added their department signage and did some painting, the wood trim is still there. They also added their shelving and checkout s...

Re: OSH Closing All Stores

I've noticed the older shopping center Walmarts were almost always carved into a Tractor Supply and some other tenant, at least around here.

This OSH looks nice, hopefully someone can move in without much work needed.

Arby's location looks run down already

My local Arby's had a fairly major remodel in 2017. The exterior metal parapet roof was removed, and the dining area and restrooms were totally remodeled. The building had not had as major of a remodel since it was built in 1984. Yet, while I enjoy eating there, I've noticed the condition of the bui...

Publix adding liquor store next to existing store

So my local Publix which dated back to 1962, was demolished and rebuilt in 2016. In doing so, they also demolished a vacant storefront to the left of the building and expanded into it. To the right of the building, was Bank of America, which was a corner storefront. That bank closed down last year. ...

Re: Walmart to open a maximum of 10 new stores in FY2020

The Walmart here opened another arena of self checkouts after the remodel. I also noticed they added two more regular checkouts at the garden center. I'm not sure why they did that as typically there is only one line open on that end of the store. The most I've seen is two. Usually the one that's op...

Re: Coca-Cola Freestyle machines on the way out?

The newly rebuilt McDonald's here just has the regular machines as well. That machine looks better than the typical Freestyle ones since it has two dispensers, plus it has an ice machine on top. For establishments with more traffic, the single dispenser design just doesn't make sense. Especially sin...

Re: Sears/Kmart Death Watch 2018

I'm quite surprised the store in Lakeland FL would close. That's a central store to many communities in that area. And from looking at photos recently, it seemed the departments were well stocked and had much more selection than my local store. I would have expected the one here to close first. But ...
