Re: Stores Returning to Regular Hours
What I want to know is why are stores, including Walmart still closing so early? I understand in areas where looting was happening or when it was harder to get stock and there was panic buying earlier in the pandemic. But exactly what are they doing with that extra time now? Just how many touch poin...

Re: McDonald's Closing 100 Walmart Restaurants
They're still opening sit-down cafes, there's one being built not far away from me. Eventually, COVIDmania will go away and things will go back to normal (despite "the new normal" being hyped up, do you really expect that society will permanently keep up with handwashing?), I keep finding articles ...

Re: Dunkin' Donuts To Close 800 U.S. Locations
There is a Dunkin' Donuts near where I work and they frequently bring in donuts since it's close by. That location dates back quite a while, I believe it was built around the late 80s, and as far as I can remember it's always had a drive thru. The line often backs up into the road most mornings. The...

Re: Dollar General eyeing locations in Washington state
Though my area already has Walmart, supermarkets, big box, etc, Dollar General really seems to be going after the more spread out areas. They have moved out of the shopping centers and are building stores in areas that are a 5-10 minute drive from major shopping, or more, but have a large population...

Re: McDonald's Closing 100 Walmart Restaurants
I know of one Walmart that has a Subway inside, and another in a separate small strip mall in an outparcel built at the same time as the Walmart itself. But that's not so surprising given the saturation of Subways in the 2000s.

Re: Department Stores and Coronavirus
I went to the supermarket last week but didn't notice the mags in the checkout. Ross here seemed to have gotten its clothing restocked to normal levels the last couple of times I've been. Home decor items were still looking rather low, but not particularly bad. I haven't been to Marshalls in a while...

Re: McDonald's Closing 100 Walmart Restaurants
I figured that the grease and odor problems were part of the reason Walmart tends to have Subway than fast food. Although I thought too, that it could be that Subway is seen as a healthier fast food choice than McD. If you think about it though there are still fryers in the deli and the smell still ...

Re: The Future of Buffets, Salad Bars, and Self Serve?
Golden Corral here has now gone from menu and take out to offering meals served by employees only. The Chinese Buffet/Grill has reopened. From what I gather, you MUST sanitize, put on gloves and a mask upon entering, and wear a mask when you aren't at your table. Buffet is open but must wear a mask ...

Re: McDonald's Closing 100 Walmart Restaurants
In reading through the posts on this thread, Wal-Mart seems to have had a lot of franchise based restaurants operate in its stores over the years. Three have been mentioned here-McDonald;s, Subway and Dunkin Donuts. I also recall eating at a Wendy's in one of the local stores some years ago. Have t...

Re: Taco Bell New Limited Menu
I miss the Meal Deals they discontinued a few years ago. The closest thing was to order a shredded chicken burrito and nachos with cheese since they no longer had the Deals nor Doritos. It had gotten quite expensive and really had to order more food than I wanted, so I hadn't eaten there in a while
