Re: Coronavirus Fears and Empty Supermarkets

I am seeing paper towel shortages now; was in multiple Raleys and Save Mart locations (they have shared distribution) with no paper towels last week. Curiously in Food Source (Raleys) they have pallets and pallets of paper towels since they get a different brand (Jubilee or something). Smiths and S...

Re: Stores Returning to Regular Hours

The only stores that I am aware of that have not returned to normal hours in SoCal, well one of them did and changed again, are Gelson's, Aldi and 99 Cent Only. Aldi returned to closing at 9 pm but now is back to 8 pm, 7 days a week (some stores still open 1/2 hour earlier than 9 am for seniors two ...

Re: Coronavirus and Plastic Bag Bans

Ralphs in Menifee (Riverside County) had free thin Kroger logo bags tonight. Had signs at self checkout that all bags are free and to just press zero when the bag screen comes up. Vons in Sun City/Menifee has free thin bags again as of yesterday. They found a "ton of them" in the back and have switc...

Re: New Build Pavilions La Quinta Coming in 2021

Hearing continued until October 6. Residents don't want the Pavilions gas station. Albertsons won't build it without it.

Re: Coronavirus and Plastic Bag Bans

Vons and Albertsons in Riverside County started charging for bags again on Monday, July 6. They have a new, much thicker plastic bag for 10 cents. Thicker than Ralphs. It's almost as nice as the ones Gelson's have.

Re: Coronavirus and Plastic Bag Bans

Noticed something interesting in a local Wal-Mart earlier this morning. The way the entrance is set up I somehow found myself walking in back of the registers in the front end and noticed the bagging carousels were not stocked very well. I did end up buying a few items (not my store of choice but t...
