Re: Downtown Santa Monica Vons Property Owner Plans to Demolish

It's been crazy over there this afternoon. Lots of looting and destruction. Yes. I'm trying to keep a score card of supermarkets in the L.A. area that have been damaged. I know El Super in Downtown Long Beach, a former newer type Albertsons, was also extensively looted as well as a Superior Grocers...

Ralphs Security Guard Pulls Gun on Shopper During Confrontation in San Bernardino

Quite surprised a Ralphs security guard even has a gun especially in California and after the Walgreens Hollywood incident.

Re: Coronavirus and Plastic Bag Bans

Ralphs in Menifee, which was the first store early on that I visited that was giving free bags, continues to give out the thick plastic reusable Ralphs bags. Vons in Temescal Canyon has some generic very thin bag but at the SCO they have them piled on top of each self-checkout machine and you can us...

Re: Stores Returning to Regular Hours

The only stores in my area, Riverside County, CA, that still have abnormal hours are 99 Cents Only Stores (8 am to 8 pm, was 7 am to 10 pm, previously) and Winco that was 24 hours but is as of last week is 5 am to 12 midnight. Ralphs has not completely returned to normal hours. Stores that were 24 h...

Re: Coronavirus and wearing masks in stores

Aldi in Menifee (Riverside County, Ca) some employees are no longer wearing masks (now optional in my county for everyone). Also, although an employee gives you a fresh, cleaned cart when you enter (no quarter deposit), I normally don't buy a lot of items at Aldi and bag my groceries right as the ca...

Re: Why Americans don't understand Aldi

Aldi has come a long way in California. They were a joke when they first opened their stores but having changed their product mix to tailor to Californians tastes and they are doing quite well. The Aldi in my city is very busy now. I routinely see 3-4 checkout lanes open when I am use to seeing 1-2...

Re: Coronavirus and wearing masks in stores

Riverside County, California rescinded mandatory mask and social distancing requirements last Friday night (5/8). A few cities in the county (mostly in the Coachella Valley - Palm Springs area - + Perris) have enacted new orders this week rerequiring them. But in my area of the county, most stores n...
