Re: SteinMart Files for Bankruptcy.

The fixture sales are interesting. Beyond the usual boring metal rack fixtures you would expect, they had some pretty nice light wood shelf square and rectangular type newer fixtures for their home merchandise. I was impressed with the condition of the fixtures (maybe it should not be much of a sur...

Re: Death of AM/PM

I never pay for drinks at AMPM, nor donuts, nor 3 pack cookies. I always use the AMPM app and press the check in button. Then you play the scratcher game and you win either free medium drinks, free donut, free sandwich, or free 3 pack of cookies. I almost always win something. You do not even have ...

Re: Regal Cinemas reportedly shutting down

It also doesn't say these closures are permanent - might just make sense to close them until more new movies are available if they aren't getting enough viewers to be at least covering the costs.

Re: New Jersey Ban On Paper Bags, Single Use Plastic Bags, & Plastic Food Containers

This is why to this day I don't know of any store that is permitting the cashiers to handle the reusable bags. The reusable bags cannot even go on the surface of the checkstand per posted signs at all of the stores I shop at (which is, every major chain) and the employees have been advised to not e...

Re: New Jersey Ban On Paper Bags, Single Use Plastic Bags, & Plastic Food Containers

Out west as these bans went into place, Safeway/Albertsons was actually trying to sell people special store logo boxes with handles cut into the sides to carry groceries out in. I think they were $1.99 and ended up with space about the size of a 6-gallon milk crate. Those did not sell well at all, ...

Re: New Jersey Ban On Paper Bags, Single Use Plastic Bags, & Plastic Food Containers

Grocery stores will be prohibited from providing paper bags. What will this do? Here's what it might do-cause a lot (more) NJ residents to do their shopping in neighboring states. Wouldn't at all be surprised to see some store closures in NJ as a direct result of this. Wonder if any more states wil...

Re: Halloween Stores & Halloween Sales

Walmart is setting up a Christmas section in addition to their Halloween section. I do not see Christmas being canceled, but I do see people spending less on indoor decorations as family gatherings may be fewer this year. Tree sales may be down as well. The West Coast fires have burned down many Ch...

Re: Halloween Stores & Halloween Sales

Target finally added a Halloween section. The selection is much less than last year. It seems like Target purposely made the Halloween area smaller this year. Wonder if it's just them thinking people won't want as much this year, or if they've had problems getting items. Seems logical that items fo...

Re: Fuddrucker's and Luby's To Liquidate

Now we will see how these franchise Fuddruckers continue along minus the corporate parent with corporate stores to spread a marketing strategy and brand management over. They won't go away overnight. But it won't be easy for them. True - look at how long chains like Howard Johnson's lasted (OK, the...

Re: Indoor Vs. Outdoor Malls & Restaurants

Malls seriously need to upgrade to MERV 13 air filters to filter out smoke and coronavirus, but most mall owners would never shell out that much money. The state of California didn't require that of mall operators as part of reopening?!? WOW! I thought that was pretty much standard practice. One of...
