Re: Reunited Albertson's Top markets

The stats are only referring to major markets and Boise would be considered a medium sized market. I dug up an old report from 2008 so we can see the change over six years. Chicago - 2008 20.3% - 2014 20.9% - up .6 Philadephia - 2008 15.1% - 2014 13.3% - down 1.8 Las Vegas - 2008 14.8 % - 2014 12.7...

Re: Safeway Confirms Sale Talks...

The problem with just4u is that is does nothing to attract new customers. They are learning a lot about their existing customers and able to maintain better margins by customizing offers to only certain customers but you can't survive if you don't grow your customer base. New shoppers going inside ...

Re: Reunited Albertson's Top markets

Boise is not on that list? Albertsons has more locations there than anybody.

Now Chuck E. The former Sears has now been demolished, and site work is underway on the new t...

Re: Safeway Confirms Sale Talks...

I haven't subscribed to the newspaper in almost four years, after having numerous delivery issues capped off with a full week's worth of newspapers being delivered to my home after asking them not to while on vacation. So I haven't seen the print ads. However, it would be interesting if Albertsons i...

Re: Shopko's future

Fast forward a little over three years later, at the Lacey, WA store. The TOP Foods store next door has closed. The Shopko has received new exterior signage. Out of curiosity, I decided to stop in and take a look around. Pretty much nothing has changed on the inside, not even the department signage....

Re: Walmart Taking On Convenience Stores

I am not a huge fan of Walmart. With that said, I could see them doing very well with this concept, if they can maintain lower prices instead of the typically high prices found in most convenience stores. Being able to provide lower cost fuel without any gimmicks attached would also help, but that l...

Last holdout at Toledo, Ohio's Woodville Mall to close

I knew it was only a matter of time, given that the mall itself is closed, Sears has its issues right now, and The Andersons has recently closed their store at the mall. Consider this mall dead.

Re: Dunkin' Donuts Opening 46 Restaurants in Northern Califo

I do recall there being one Dunkin Donuts in the Portland metro area a few years ago, but it seems to be gone now. I doubt that Dunkin Donuts would be making a return to the Northwest anytime soon. Krispy Kreme has fared somewhat better here than in a lot of other places, although they still only h...

Re: Safeway Confirms Sale Talks...

I stopped shopping at Safeway many years ago due to the introduction of the club card. I took offense to the uppity attitude the cashier displayed when I did not want to provide my name, phone number, etc. I also stopped shopping at Albertsons when they rolled out their program, although Albertsons ...
