Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: Northwest, Rockies, & Alaska Impact
It has been mentioned that some of the retained QFC's could be rebranded as Haggen. I think that could possibly work for stores like University Village, Mercer Street etc. But I am wondering if that could also backfire given the Haggen fiasco in terms of pricing and promotion of the stores when it ...

Re: The Commons at Federal Way...declining again?
The Commons really needs to get rid of the interior mall and make it an urban village like what many struggling malls are doing. Yes, still have some retail but do the thing with housing, lodging, offices, restaurants and maybe even a park or new city hall for Federal Way?

PCC Community Market To Close Downtown Seattle Store
If COVID, riots, massive shoplifting, increases in crime, plus Amazon pulling out of Rainier Square hadn’t happened, I think PCC would not be closing this store! I feel that for much of the issues, local policies, including wanting to do the “Amazon Head Tax”, made Rainier Square no longer viable as...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: Northwest, Rockies, & Alaska Impact
The one thing that I am not seeing talked about is, if this merger does happen, what will happen to what's left of Haggen. It seems like it would make some sense to group those stores together with QFC. Kroger could try to get the perimeters in Haggen running similar to what they are doing at Maria...

Lunds & Byerlys
I’m from the Seattle area but in Minneapolis today and went into a Lunds and Byerlys store! Before QFC was acquired by Fred Meyer and then Kroger, it was rumored that Byerlys and/or Lunds had been approached by QFC for an acquisition! Back in the 1990’ s that may have made some sense and perhaps QFC...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Another Seattle area Rite Aid closure! This time it is a Rite Aid bannered store and not a Bartell Drug. The store at Renton Village closed on September 28th. This store started out as a Pay ‘n Save and became a PayLess Drug. It was also one of the original tenants of this strip mall along with a lo...

Re: WSJ: Rite Aid plans 400-500 store closures in pending bankruptcy filing
In fact,if it came to that,a split into separate east and west companies would be a lot more sensible(especially if the western entity is debt-free).If WBA was to persue a second crack at RAD stores the east stores would be of a lowered antitrust risk than the attempted outright merger which failed...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
I am wondering if Rite Aid could be a nice way for Loblaws to establish more of a presence in the US outside it's T&T Supermarket opening. Loblaws does operate Shopper's Drug Mart! If Rite Aid does declare bankruptcy, could Loblaws acquire them and not have to pay the government opioid settlemen...
