Re: Fresh groceries coming to WA Target stores?
This is part of Target's pFresh program. It's supposed to eventually hit all their stores, minus the Super Targets, of course.

Re: Walmart store number question
I've seen Walmart expand several stores. This is a really unusual step, unless they are demolishing the entire store. Normally, the stores are numbered sequentially, though they skipped the 3000 and 4000 stores and went straight to 5000. 6000 and 8000 are reserved for Sam's.

Re: Rite Aid's Future
CVS would probably be interested in Rite Aid's Colorado stores as an entry into the Denver market. I'm not so sure about this. When CVS bought their share of the Eckerd stores, they passed up on several stores in Colorado, including some under construction. Where I feel Rite Aid went wrong was twof...

Re: Winn-Dixie Closing 30 Stores by September
From what most of the discussions have been, most of the closing stores were marginal stores, or at the far reaches of the distribution areas of the company. A case in point were the two stores in Meridian, MS. One was a Marketplace, the other a Save Rite. Both ar at the far reach of the Hammond, LA...

Re: Target Closing All Garden Centers by September 2010
Not every Target has a Garden Center. Most don't, as a matter of fact. The few stores that do don't do a big business with them, hence their closure. I only know of one in Louisiana, at the first Super Target in the state in Baton Rouge. Of the remaining 14 or so stores, none of them have one. Seems...

Re: Albertsons LLC Opening LA Store
Last year the LLC opened a store in Mandeville, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, opened in a former A&P Sav-a-Center, in St. Tammany Parrish Funny you should mention this. The store that was 'opened' in Mandeville was built by Delchamps/Jitney Jungle during their ill-fated merger time....

Re: Walmart removing "Supercenter" name?
It's not an accident. It's intentional. Walmart has greatly publicized the fact that their future growth hinges exclusively on the Supercenter format in the US. So much so that I do not belive they have opened just a discount store in over a year. Thus, they are removing the designation, and Divisio...
