Just noticed a Maverik going in at Gene Autry/I-10 at the Palm Springs/Cathedral City/Desert Hot Springs exit. That will be the first SoCal location. People can’t afford the boutique pet food brands as much nowadays. And many of those upscale brands (like Blue Buffalo) have big owners like General Mills and Smucker who can also sell them through the mass retailers.

You haven’t been to the Goodyear area in the last few years, or along the 303 corridor.

It helps that Sherwin is a bigger company, that sells under several brands besides Sherwin - Valspar primarily at Lowe’s, Dutch Boy at Menards, plus specialty paints like Krylon and automotive brand House of Colors.

Sounds like asbestos claims were part of their financial problems. Asbestos was often mixed in texture paints and plasters for its fireproofing ability. Asbestos was used in a lot of things for the past 100 years.

You think they would get rid of Jewel and United?. They both are dominant chains in their markets.

Apparently this is a plan by SEI to become “foodcentric”….less focused on selling gas and more focused on fresh/made to order foods, like WaWa and QT. It doesn’t help that a large portion of 7-11’s stores are one or two location franchises that have stores that are mediocre at best.

Dunn-Edwards would probably take a lot of those locations. I know a lot of paint contractors prefer D-E paint over other brands.
