Re: Target Rolls 10 item "Express Self Checkout" Nationwide
Probably ran out of money gutting the mess inside and couldn't afford to fix the outside. They don't seem to have a "signature" exterior design. They just take what is there. That is fair. Anyway I am pretty sure that store had the new prototype. But it doesn't seem to have it anymore. So...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
Just visited Palm Springs RA---what I've got to think is a high-volume store. From the entry, store looks great--fully stocked. As you walk down the diagonal aisle toward the pharmacy, there are some out-of-stocks in various categories but appears more to be specific manufacturers (i.e. impending r...

Re: Cracker Barrel closes Medford, OR location
Sacramento location is referring customers to Rocklin, which would imply that location is safe. Strange because I am pretty sure the Sacramento location was actually busier than the Rocklin location. Some employee posted on Reddit the Sacramento location closed due to "theft." Not sure wha...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing
So the backrooms are STUFFED FULL in both Reno and Sparks. The stores are closing on or BY April 28 (some employees think they could be closed any second). So I asked what is happening to the stuff in the backroom. I was told they are going to pick it all up and nothing more is going to be stocked....

Re: Cracker Barrel closes Medford, OR location
Sacramento is now out of business too. Rocklin is still open. But let's check on that tomorrow or later this week.. This chain... never should have bothered with the west coast. Reno can be their furthest west unit. Rialto, Camarillo, Bakersfield, Victorville still open. I think three of those may b...

Rubys "Shake Shack" opening in Reno
There is construction in Reno on North Virginia between the 7-11 and Raising Canes. There is a coming soon Ruby's sign with the logo of the SoCal chain, and a permit that says this will be "Rubys Shake Shack." This is near a bunch of miserably institutional looking student housing. This si...

Re: Why Have Some Chain Stores Haven't Gotten Makeovers Yet and What Lies Ahead for Them!"
If these lower capacity dining rooms need less labor then restaurants should keep them open. Closing dining rooms doesn't save much labor at all, but causes a huge loss in sales. The remodeled Burger King that I pass by almost daily has their dining room open from 6 am to Midnight. The double drive...

Re: Target Rolls 10 item "Express Self Checkout" Nationwide
I was referring to when Cornell was CEO of Michaels, where he had very luxurious prototypes built that resembles a Barnes and Noble/Toys R Us type store with custom fixtures everywhere, lower gondolas like CVS, fancy signage and screens everywhere. They went in during 2008, and by end of 2009 they ...
