Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
I did not see any of this A&P or Grand Union activity in the SW area of Florida. When they were gone they stayed gone in that area.

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: National Impact
There were no problems with Albertsons in Florida. Everyone I visited were clean, modern, well staffed and well run. The "problem" was they did not have enough stores to make a difference and for some reason would not build more stores. I think they would have taken W/D to the cleaners IF...

Re: Fast Food chains focusing on apps while menu prices skyrocket
That's not what I have witnessed in Denver or Los Angeles and San Diego. Great weather with outdoor seating still has that commotion factor. Just too much for me though I know that most really like it. Feels rushed and noisy and not what I want when eating. Not into diners with loud music and scream...

Re: Fast Food chains focusing on apps while menu prices skyrocket
All this chatter begs the question: Why do people still go to these fast food places? They don't. They go to In-N-Out instead. Look at the lines there. Have you seen the Chili's commercials? They say "have you seen the fast food prices? It's like they want you to eat at Chili's instead." ...

Re: Stop & Shop closures
I wanted to come back here now that there's some further discussion on my blog about this. We have any number of different comments people have left, but as you can see there are some really detailed reports on the NY (Hudson Valley and Long Island/Queens) stores. Overall, it sounds like stocking h...

Re: ALDI to acquire Winn-Dixie
That is my impression. The first time I went into one of these decades ago I was blown away by how cheap everything was. Compared to other stores it almost felt like free food. And the quality was above average for generics. The store was orderly and spartan. NOW- the price gap between them and oth...
