Re: 7-Eleven buying large chunk of Sunoco
Hard to keep a cleanliness/friendlyness campaign when you run a mostly franchise operation, most of who are one and two store operators with long term contracts who basically run a liquor store with Slurpees.

Re: 7-Eleven buying large chunk of Sunoco
It looks like 7-11 isn’t going to drop the Speedway brand anytime soon. They just started a major ad campaign for the Speedway brand which includes offering Slurpees and Big Gulps. What seems to be happening is the 7-11 banner being emphasized in urban markets, with Speedway in the more rural areas-...

How do the Safeways in the Colorado Mountain towns do compared to Denver? I suspect that is the cash cow for that division, (the way smaller towns are for Safeway in AZ.) The only major rival in those mountain towns is City Market-whose stores are very different from partner King Soopers.

Re: FTC Sues to block Kroger-Albertsons merger
See, that's the thing. If they want to just have a good profitable division without forcing to show growth, Ralphs is it. If they want #1 or a close #2 in their markets, maybe Ralphs isn't the place they should focus on. If they want to just show growth, they can do so organically, you know, actual...

Re: QT expanding to Vegas
QT in Phoenix is mostly building along the freeway system-for example there will be two QT sites at the 91st Ave/I-10 interchange- one just N of I-10 and another S of I-10 (sharing a site with McDonald’s and Starbucks)

Re: CA to ban disposable cups at restaurants for eat in
Washing cups/plates/ etc requires hot water, requiring more energy use, detergent which is a pollutant, and creates waste water. More pollution and energy use than a paper cup, which comes from a tree that is grown to make paper or even a foam cup.

Re: CA Attempts to ban super thick plastic bags
One thick bag equals two or three of those micro thin plastic bags that rip apart and puncture easily. No energy saving or waste reduction at all. Why don’t you just reuse the thick plastic bag?
