Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: California Impact

I think the Downtown San Diego Ralphs is infinitely more accessible and with a far better parking situation than the Downtown San Diego Albertsons... Having shopped at both stores when I lived in downtown San Diego, my experience is the Albertsons is easier to get in and out of. It has little to do...

Re: 🛒 Kroger-Albertsons Merger: California Impact

The news articles saying that we are going to have a "glut" of luxury apartments and such go way back to 2015, and new ones are being written everyday but the developers keep building them. I'm convinced it is a way to milk their holdings for shorter term cash. Can't borrow much against t...

...I could see some Haggen influence in that new La Jolla Pavilions in that they had really overhauled the bakery assortment; I could drive down there right now to get more of that amazing Sourdough bread which is amongst the best I've ever had in my life and I'm a Sourdough connoisseur. Can't beli...

This follows a lett...

Re: How is Meijer thriving in Detroit when Target/WM can't keep urban stores open?

My only prediction is more obvious, Meijer is Michigan-based and has been in the Detroit area for much of its existence, therefore they understand the city and can adapt to marketing well. Kroger has run inner city stores for decades in other cities. It reflects more on their regional management. K...

Re: Omega Mart: Would you pay $50 to visit a fake supermarket?

House of Eternal Return, their original permanent installation in Santa Fe, is $36, so this isn't that for off. Like House of Eternal Return, Omega Mart supports over 300 artists, writers, musicians, and technical staff. That adds up. To put this into perspective, Cirque du Soleil starts at $156. At...

Re: Panera Phoenix airport- Corporate- Drive Through Only

I can't imagine stopping for Panera anywhere... Well, there is THAT. I haven't liked them since they changed over from St Louis Bread Company and changed the menu. It seems like they use too many ingredients and try to be "upscale" and fall flat on their faces. I do like their regular lem...
