Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Reading on Reddit that Rite Aid is laying off employees in the stores, it appears the unionized CA Stores are getting hit by this. Not sure what the union is doing... I guess the same thing it has been for the past 4 years when some locals have been working without a contract... at least they collec...

Re: Target Rolls 10 item "Express Self Checkout" Nationwide

Walmart has upgraded employee quality but also established pride in the workplace. My Walmart stores must be very different from yours, because Walmart is the last place I see employees with any pride in the workplace. They seem to be bitter, overworked and frustrated. I'm glad this isn't universal...

Re: Stores that never were: Sacramento edition

Were there any towns that a Staples or Office Depot was proposed that never got one, or playgrounds proposed at Carl's Jr locations that never got one, or ones that already had an outdoor one, but were intended to remodel it into an indoor one?? How are the remaining Staples in those rural markets ...

Re: Cracker Barrel closes Medford, OR location

I know a lot of restaurants and other retailers who won’t go into California. Well they are still there. They will have 5 locations still... Rocklin is still open... For a publicly traded company I can understand the temptation to want to expand into CA. They need to show growth and tell a growth s...

Re: Target Rolls 10 item "Express Self Checkout" Nationwide

Now we have Cornell ruining the culture of strong operations, fast service, and consistency at Target. Worse, they lean into distractions and announce them publicly such as very strong D&I programs which ordinarily would be fine but not when the customer sees that you're more focused on a singl...

Re: Aldi lists job openings at multiple warehouses and nearly 30 stores in Northern California

I wonder if they are bidding on 99 Only real estate. That was my first thought! Plenty of space that would be perfect in terms of size and location for them. Pricing is so terrible in Northern California, Aldi probably thinks they can make a lot of money... We will see how it goes. Based on the loc...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing

Store hours are back to closing at 9 PM in Reno. They supposedly got in trouble for making the decision to close at 8 PM. They have a lot of pallets in the back room ready to be picked up. They are still allowed to restock seasonal items only if they find seasonal items in the backroom but cannot re...

Re: Cracker Barrel closes Medford, OR location

Sacramento location is referring customers to Rocklin, which would imply that location is safe. Strange because I am pretty sure the Sacramento location was actually busier than the Rocklin location. Some employee posted on Reddit the Sacramento location closed due to "theft." Not sure wh...

Re: Rubys "Shake Shack" opening in Reno

There was one of these in the Las Vegas airport inside one of the nicer terminals; it used a different logo from the main chain on its signs, but then once you got inside everything had the chain's logo. It was run by HMS Host. You could get out of there at breakfast under $15. "Quality" w...

Re: Bojangles coming to Los Angeles

We will see how many actually open.

This chain has become a joke. The one in IL doesn't even sell bone in chicken only has chicken tenders.
