Re: Chili's Half Pound Burgers Are A Hot Seller Amid High Inflation
As fewer regions still have a drink promotion (some have no promotion, a few are still $1, some are 1.29 or 1.49), I find myself visiting McDonalds less and less. I don't miss them. I am actually okay with the 30oz iced tea at the 1.49 price point but no higher. I didn't realize the $1 any size bev...

Re: Chili's Half Pound Burgers Are A Hot Seller Amid High Inflation
Easy way to get someone to take your order personally at McDonalds - bring some green paper (cash), since the kiosks can't usually process that, thus a human has to do it! They seem to try hard to ignore customers who stand at a register. They seem to hope the customer gives up and uses a kiosk. Te...

Re: Chili's Half Pound Burgers Are A Hot Seller Amid High Inflation
Their "3 For Me" deal is an incredible deal, better priced than anything comparable from McDonald's, Burger King, Carl's or Wendy's. Appetizer like a salad or soup, plus a choice of several good size burgers with a large portion of fries, plus a drink for $10.99. For a couple bucks you ca...

Re: Plastic pallets instead of boxes
The question would be, are they actually using more plastic? Things like the multi rolls of paper items were already wrapped in plastic. Pallets were also usually wrapped that way (to keep them from falling apart in transit). So, it seems that all they did was eliminate the boxes, by putting the al...

Re: Plastic pallets instead of boxes
Every store I've been involved with has thrown away pallet wrap plastic (very thin film) as well as, for instance, plastic shrink wrap that wraps cases of canned foods that are in boxes with no lid. I've never seen it recycled. This includes stores that collected plastic bags for recycling. That se...

Re: Plastic pallets instead of boxes
Those types of wraps (around things like the towels you mention, water bottles and such) can be put in with plastic bags for recycling at stores (not sure where other places put such a bin, around here it's usually where you return deposit bottles but since not all states have deposits, they would ...

Re: Plastic pallets instead of boxes
In 99 Only today they had a couple pallets of "BIG" Paper Towels (on sale for .9999) on pallets. What was interesting is these pallets had the paper towels bundled in super thick plastic wrap instead of in boxes (this brand used to come in cardboard boxes), the towels were bundled like 8 ...

Re: Walmart observations
I find it somewhat dubious especially for a retailer like Wal Mart to focus on bags given the amount of plastic crap they have for sale in their store (toys, totes, ton of hardline items, home items, it feels like half of the store is plastic crap). Though some of the things are helpful, at least. ...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores
12k would be in line with an east coast Rite Aid in the 90's/00's (the 10's east coast Rite Aids were closer to 15k square feet) so I guess that makes sense. I really hope someone will quickly fix this store and get it to a consistent merchandising spec with other locations. They can keep some of t...
