Re: Target Registers Fail Nationwide
I was at the Mission Valley - San Diego store when this happened! It was backed up a bit but management stepped in quickly and expedited things along pretty well. Received FREE bags and $5.00 off purchase. That store had some good and not-so-good managers, but in the last few years before I moved t...

Re: Fry’s Electronics on Life Support
I have been to the store near Mission Valley (San Diego) and it is a BIG store! But, WAY more employees than customers! Selection was weird but prices were competitive. My one and only Fry's experience was at that store back in the early 2000's shortly after moving to San Diego. Don't remember what...

Re: Target Registers Fail Nationwide
... Surprisingly, it seems many of their items come pre-marked with prices - store branded things and even seasonal items in name brands that must be packed specifically for them. Not everything, of course, but they do have some.... The vast majority of items other than clothing and some home decor...

Re: Target Dance Music
Target's recent remodels (ie the Sterling , VA store off Route 7) look like an ode to what they think millennial shoppers want in a store. No problem with them catering to a certain demographic. However as a store they have to consider that folks might come in and go what the heck happened in here ...

Re: New build Vons coming to Valley Center (near Escondido)
This is probably why Kroger doesn't bother to build stores anymore in California. It is just too much trouble. All this back and forth, delays, years of going through planning... costs a lot of money. A lot easier to build a new store in Arizona or Nevada or Ohio... Now if this was Sprouts or Trade...

Re: Simon mall branding homogenization
...HOWEVER, one mall that I think they have gotten traction on getting people to use "Westfield" is Westfield Culver City. Only because they changed the name of the mall completely from "Fox Hills." So newcomers to the area really do call it "Westfield Culver City." Bu...

Re: New build Vons coming to Valley Center (near Escondido)
It was approved. But California style nimbyism was in full effect. https://www.valleycenter.com/articles/liberty-bell-plaza-vons-albertsons-the-aftermath-and-disappointment/ The neighborhood surrounding the VONS I mentioned above complains endlessly about the size of the store (it is really small)....

Re: Simon mall branding homogenization
When I go to a mall I don't think "Oh, should I go to a Simon Mall or a Westfield Mall." I go to the mall that has the store or stores I am looking for. Here in Phoenix, they all seem to be owned by Macerich, so not much opportunity to choose between management companies. Back in San Diego...

Re: Target Dance Music
Here in San Diego they are doing a major remodel of their store at the Mission Valley Mall. There is a MAJOR expansion for food but it feels the whole store is changing. The store is quite large (2 stories) but it does not have the SuperTarget moniker (not sure how many square feet). So far no musi...
