... Surprisingly, it seems many of their items come pre-marked with prices - store branded things and even seasonal items in name brands that must be packed specifically for them. This is probably why Kroger doesn't bother to build stores anymore in California. It is just too much trouble. All this back and forth, delays, years of going through planning... costs a lot of money. A lot easier to build a new store in Arizona or Nevada or Ohio... Now if this was Sprouts or Trade...

When I go to a mall I don't think "Oh, should I go to a Simon Mall or a Westfield Mall." I go to the mall that has the store or stores I am looking for. Here in Phoenix, they all seem to be owned by Macerich, so not much opportunity to choose between management companies. Back in San Diego...
