When I think of Dillard's I think of a dark, dreary store with clothing that is overpriced and not in style. It's a place I don't picture many people under the age of 60 shopping at.
Lol, that's exactly what I think of about Macy's

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

Will be interesting to see which east coast markets they do ad buys in. Or if this is all digital. For the past couple months, this ad was the only one I saw run on TV, on stations in both the Detroit and Toledo markets, so those new ads probably will end up on TV too. I've seen that ad in the Phil...

Re: Thrifty Ice Cream now at Vons/Albertsons

Hope they don't get control of this product and reformulate it like their Lucerne and Signature Ice Creams, both are terrible quality ice cream. Similar to their terrible quality store brand breads. I'm on the other Coast, but I've never found an issue with Signature Ice Cream (I pick it up once in...

Re: Stop & Shop closures

I'd imagine that ShopRite is so strong being the native NJ chain that it is hard to compete with them. This is the big one here. I don't think Stop & Shop has ever done particularly well in NJ. They pretty much exited the Southern NJ market several years ago. As far as the other divisions, Gian...

Article: 'Target has a plan to take down Dollar General and Walmart'

TL;DR: A new low cost private label brand ('Deal Worthy'. I guess they forgot about 'Smartly') and more $1 items. Target has a plan to take down Dollar General and Walmart By Daniel Kline TheStreet Updated February 17, 2024 8:29 AM Target and its customers have always sort of held their noses up whe...

Re: Digital Coupons

ShopRite stores seem to have a kiosk by Customer Service where I'm assuming the less tech-savvy folks can get assistance with loading coupons to their account (probably still an occasional nightmare for staff to deal with, but better than nothing). Do other chains have such things? Here's an article...

Re: CA to ban disposable cups at restaurants for eat in

I also find it ironic these fast foods used to use almost exclusively paper cups. The plastic cups are recent within the past few years. That was a result of the plastic bag bans, increased demand for paper bags, and price being driven up on paper cups. So places switched to plastic cups. McDonalds...

Re: Grocery Outlet looking at NY locations

There is definite movement from PA out to the west coast for products including perishables. I have also seen signs of west coast products being stocked back in PA such as It's It Ice Cream Bars (a product difficult to find outside Northern California). Funny you mention ice cream as I occasionally...

Re: Wegmans to close Natick, MA location

Amazing just how many people seem to not be able to understand that and just want to say that it is an expensive store, ignoring the good deals that exist in the "regular" parts of the store :) Even in HABA, their prices are very, very good. The store brand stuff (supplied by Topco under ...

storewanderer wrote: February 14th, 2024, 12:32 am What prices have you seen them reduce?
I'm not sure as I very rarely shop there. Honestly their regular grocery prices have always been pretty decent, especially on store branded items. It's all the prepared food and other fancier items that are, IMO, horribly overpriced.
